Ironically on the day the Big 10/BE announce the matchups starting next year the Big 10 announces they will be bringing the Big 10 Tourney to BE country, but not NY.  DC!!!

Daniel Martin @DMartinCSN     ·   30m
Big Ten tournament coming to Verizon Center in 2017, source confirms to CSN: http://bit.ly/Q7I8Cd

What will always help the BE is that we will always play at MSG in NYC. The other conferences will have to rotate.

Each conference really needs to find a semi permanent place for their post season tournament

The ACC should be down south, not in Brooklyn.
The Pac !2 should be at the Staples Center, not in Vegas
The Mountain West should be in Vegas
Perhaps ACC should consider Miami as a good venue where everyone would travel to

The B1G will be in NY a few years after DC.  I guess Barclay's keeps making hay on all the tourneys.

@JonRothstein: 2014 Preseason NIT with four potential NCAA teams as host schools --- Minnesota, Gonzaga, St. John's, Georgia. Very solid field. #SJUBB

So I understand. We play 2 games vs crappy teams, win or lose we go to garden? Then we play 4 team tournament?

No, the NIT is the only pre-season tournament of this type that still requires you to win those two games I believe.

Correct.  However, every team is now guaranteed to play 4 games.  If we don't make MSG, we will host two more games on campus, the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week.

Chance to top Robert Morris on campus NIT non attendance level if that occurs.  ;)

If they don't make MSG then the season's already over before I've had my other turkey. ;)

Thanks for answering my question. Think we will be setup very well in first 2 games. They are going to need us for attendance.

Than they need to set us up to play two schools that have club teams. (They tried to set us up in post season NIT and that didn't work).

So as far as nonconference opponents go we have:

Tulane @ Barclays
Niagra @ CA
Duke @ MSG
Syracuse @ Carrier Dome
Fordham @ MSG

and potentially

St. Joe's @ CA
2 of Gonzaga, Minnesota, Georgia (if we beat St. Joe's)

Should be a 2 game "classic" with us + Syracuse + MAAC school + A10 school, winners and losers play the next day.
This is not difficult to envision or set up.

That would be considered a tournament and the NCAA has put restrictions on how many a team can play during a season so schools get around it by playing in "one Game" classics usually sponsored by an advertiser and even though there might be multiple teams, you don't ever see a winners or losers bracket.

Id settle for just playing Manhattan instead.
