Obekpa's 1st career double-double

Love the rebounding effort by Obekpa tonight and even in the 1st scrimmage. Granted it is against inferior competition/height but still he did what he should be doing. Need this type of effort and consistency all season long.

Let's hope it's a real trend and not because it was an inferior team. He's defiantly motivated.

I'm extremely optimistic about what I've seen from Obekpa in his two games so far. Not just the numbers, but he's playing like a totally different player.

I expect a monster season from him.

Let's just remember how God'sgift used to look against bad teams. Loved the way Obekpa looked, but it was NJIT.

True, but let's remember how Obekpa looked (on the offensive end) against bad teams last year.  He has definitely made great strides.

Obekpa looks like a completely different player. His body language on the court is 100% improved. He is a leader.

I wouldn't go as far to call him a leader just yet but clearly John Lucas did it again.

Exactly. It's a positive sign.

Now SJU/UA must accommodate Chris and make him  a pair of shorts of a length he likes--let him dress old school

Absolutely...competition aside...you could tell he (and Dom) wanted every rebound...tenacity dsiplayed by both

Love him since I first saw him at IS8. Keep your rosary beads close by. We need him healthy come March..

Loved his overall game ...

Didn't try to block every shot and get caught out of position or pick up fouls. He needs to use the threat of the block more than actually getting them this year.  Scouts already know he's a superior shot blocker, now needs to show he can board consistently.

Not just bc he made them but he looked great at the line.  Looked confident and wasn't falling away like the past.

Seems simple but I loved how he threw down his dunks. No hesitation and with authority. If we are going to play small when we drive and dish he must make them pay.

Would like to see him dribble less. Sometimes he got the ball in some bad spots and tried to dribble more than I want to see.
