I'm not drinking the cool aid.  This team is mediocre, to good, and this is being kind.  Lavin is awful at coaching, great at excuses.  At least he can't use the "we are the youngest team in the country" excuse anymore.   Minn 90 -StJ 68.  Maybe a little closer if Minn lets up in garbage time.

So just so were clear. Do you or do you not like Lavin? Couldn't really tell from your post

The Minnesota game will tell us a lot about  how good the St.John's men's team will be this season.

If St.John's beats Minny then we can look forward to a fun season.

If St.John's loses by double digits then hello NIT.

I disagree with your last statement. If we lose by double digits to Minnesota, then it's good bye NIT

Win or lose - a November game doesn't make or break a season, but it would be real, real nice to win....just the way it would have been nice to beat Penn St. last year.   Minn. is picked ninth in the Big ten by the beat writers.

Team of seniors can't lose this game. No more excuses. We are playing at home. They are a good team. If we are good we win. Way to excited for this game. Really hoping for a good season.

Might be a Minny fan. Mediocre to good and still a 22 pt loss prediction.

Close game but we take it 72-70. Harrison with 25 and 6 consecutive free throws to close it out.

Oh, but he'll use it next year if he's still here.

Mahoney, Jarvis, Roberts used it first. Everyone uses it.

It was expected in his 2nd year, but again in his sixth year if he gets the extension? What will the excuse be for that?
For him to get that, they better atleast make the elite 8, why extend him for just making the ncaa.

Make him earn his keep, and considering how b-ball will be next year in QNS. The only way he will earn it is the elite 8.
Reasonable expectations? No, but that's on him for taking last year recruiting off

I wouldn't give him an extension now. Thankfully St.John's agrees. He's made it clear that this is his program. But that means he takes the blame when his system doesn't work. He's been exposed as a guy that really doesn't have an intelligent plan for most opponents. That's not a guy you lock up. I don't care if he lands AAs. Briscoe wouldn't change a damn thing, if there is no clear system in place.

Minnesota 77 St. Johns 39.  Oh wait, nevermind, that was the score the last time we played them.  Minnesota 92 St. Johns 64....Shucks that was the score two times ago we played them

Minnesota 81 SJU 68.

We get killed on the glass. Chris gets in foul trouble.  Lavin uses all the time outs with 12 minutes to go in the first half trying to stop the  onslaught.  Too little too late. Little Pitino says that the four white guys and the Egyptian couldve outrebounded SJU tonight.
