Crappy game but we won. 5-1
It would be great going to Vegas when we play games at Alumni Hall. Lavin should be arrested for point shaving. He intentionally keeps these games close.

Once again, not nearly as bad as reading a game thread might make it seem.

Worse

Well hopefully Lavin got his craziness out of his system. Team was playing well, was ridiculous to start his nonsense, but at least this time it was against a terrible team and we got a win.

at least it was a win.  It will look OK in March when anything but a loss or close win would have had any significance

Our fan base is f*cking embarrassing.  This game SUCKS as a player.  You are playing a weekday game at a half-empty CA and not the Garden, playing against an inferior opponent that has this game circled as their Super Bowl, and right smack between #10 Gonzaga at MSG and your arch-nemis Syracuse. This was a classic trap game that we were up 16 with ball when the ref decided he wanted attention with 7 seconds left.
Still not good enough for our fans.  How can our fans bust these guys for not getting up playing in front of 3,000 quiet fans?

Why? Stewart looked great and we got off to a big lead.  He also got Branch to be more assertive.  Not everything Lavin does is wrong.  These are the types of games to experiment with.

Unable to watch right now but don't get your comment Baldi? You mean because of the level of comp?
Ya, Niagara is unbelievably bad. Can't even hit the rim

Good enough to be 1-0 in the MAAC.  Riddle me that MAACdaddy?

With myles, we go 8 deep   3-6 from 3ball land. Also had 3 blocks.
Also I like Branch starting (12pnts, 6assists) over Jordan (8pnts, 4assists)

Pointer filled up the stat sheet  8pnts 9boards 3blocks and 4assists 1steal
Harrison 16pnts and 9 boards

shot 49.1%, 40.0% from 3

Oh and um cuse lost @ Michigan 68-65. MR. Lavin you better just play our top8 players, 8 is all we need.
NO MORE EXPERIMENTS, DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?????????????

Quick trigger, no conscience.  Good size and length.
Seems to struggle on those transition treys, but is automatic with his feet set off skip passes or inside-out looks.

Starting N'Diaye at Georgetown last year was Lavin trolling us. I really think he started Stewart tonight because he knows we will need his 3 pt shot against the Cuse 2-3 zone, so why not get the kid some legit run.

 Great point..
I think Branch should start.. but instead of Greene, not Jordan

Yeah our 2nd best player should come off the bench. You going to hurt your brain with that kind of thinking Marillac. I am not saying you can't find Stewart 12 minutes a game but not at expense of Jordan. I am sure this was some kind of punishment for something or the other.

What ever happened to Henderson, or is he not showing anything in practice?
I remember reading on here about how much people liked him, I expected to see atleast alittle of him by now.
The more depth we have, the better we'll be in the long run.

I'm guessing redshirt for Henderson.  We are rather loaded at the guard position.

Our second best player came into the game with almost 40 turnovers in seven contests (three against D-2 teams) and was fresh off a nine turnover performance.  Nine turnovers is just absurd.  He needed to be checked.
I like it more for getting Branch more assertive.  You could see all night Lavin chatting with him during breaks and when he was on the bench.  Branch is just as capable of getting to the hole as Jordan, but he is not as spectacular at finishing--however, he's also not going to turn it over nine times.

Sir'Dominic Pointer didn't start because he was late to a team meeting. #sjubb

Rysheed Jordan didn't start because Steve Lavin wanted to start Jamal Branch, who scored grand total of four points in last 2 games. #sjubb

IMO Rysheed Jordan was clearly benched and told to cut down on turnovers. Had just one tonight. #sjubb

You will see plenty of Henderson next year when Lavin doesn't sign anyone and we suck (summary of your posts the last few weeks)

He is redshirting this season.  Stewart was the one ready for the bigger impact this year.  Text book redshirt IMO.  I think Stewart, Ali B, ADR, and Henderson will be solid four year guys for us.  The 2014 class might not look so bad 4-5 years from now.

You think they won't?  What happened when Lavin started experimkenting with the bench? from 15 down to 1, then he puts in a real line up and it went back up to 17.    They're gone next year.

Our only chance for next year?  CO and RJ desides to ride it out. If they stay, then Traci see that we have talent and balls for SJU.
I like what we got from Stewart tonight, if he keeps developing then we'll have something with him.
That's what I'm praying for.

If CO and RJ leaves with the seniors, do you think Traci is coming? Not a chance.

You seen what everyone besides the top 7 gave up, without Stewart,  nothing.
That Italian kid hit one three, hopefully he becomes a sharp shooter.

So like it or not but reality is, next years hopes is all on CO and RJ, and if you believe otherwise then you live in a fantasy land.
