@GaryParrishCBS: Butler fans will love me after this week’s Poll Attacks. And St. John’s fans will love me even more. Let’s get it! http://t.co/0Cq8LuROVB
from the article: St. John's is 6-1 with a home win over Minnesota, a road win over Syracuse and a lone loss on a neutral court to Gonzaga by a 73-66 margin. Gonzaga is ranked 10th at KenPom. Syracuse is 28th. Minnesota is 30th. So, according to KenPom, St. John's is 6-1 with two top-30 wins and zero losses outside of the top 10, and do you want to see the full list of teams that currently have at least two top-30 wins and zero losses outside of the top 10? "Yes, Mr. Parrish, I do!" you just said to yourself. Cool. Because I have that list right here:
  • Kentucky
  • Duke
  • Louisville
  • Wisconsin
  • Arizona
  • Kansas
  • St. John's
That's the entire list.
It's weird how MSG is both the reason recruits should come to Saint John's and a neutral court.

Ha!  I thought that MSG being described as a"neutral court" needed at least an asterisks next to it.  Unfortunately, MSG has resembled more of a neutral court for us at times.

Here is a breakdown of who did and didn't vote for us and where they voted. Surprising that Kieran Darcy left us off his ballot.

What is going on with CBS sports?  Check out their latest rankings. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology/nitty-gritty-report

Greenbay 1  (is this hockey?)
Kentucky 2
Nova 15
Seton Hall 19
St. Johns 56
U Mass - Lowell 58 (Not the main campus which is in Amherst)
Long Beach State 65
Georgetown 70

Wow!  Why would you put this on your web site, if you are attempting to be a reputable new reporting organization?  60 Minutes should look into this, before they are viewed as another Rolling Stone.

You realize CBS doesn't "create" the rpi rankings right?   It's a computer formula.

The RPI rankings vary wildly this year by website.  We are most commonly #43 which is a little disappointing considering the neutral court win over Minnesota and the road win against Syracuse.  The good news is that there are some mid-majors that will fall past us as the level of competition drops dramatically for them.  We will also shoot up with the three neutral court games remaining (and Duke).  The schedule is a thing of beauty this year.  Props to those who assembled it.
If this team goes to 11-1, they will be in the top 10 in the RPI and probably top 15 in both polls.

Think he made a mistake. 2 we already played, Minnesota and Gonzaga.
I know msg is our home, but the nit games are considered neutral right.

Sorry read the schedule wrong.  We have two left:  Holiday Festival v. Fordham and Tulane at Barclays.  Redstormsports.com makes it look like the St. Mary's game is part of the Holiday Festival at first glance.

In any event, we have two neutral court games left and Duke when 90% of the teams ahead of us are home against patsies until conference play.  There is a lot of ground that can be made up.  Just can't lose to Depaul or Marquette this year to cough it up.  Marquette and Depaul must be sweeps.

Lets just deal with winning the next 5  before conf play.
Gotta get these 5, yeah it will be tough but win them anyway, anyhow.

Going 11-1 before conf would be step 1 in getting to the ncaa.

Marquette has fallen so far so fast that they're lumped in with Depaul?  I'll have to see it to believe it.

Where do we end up tomorrow? Couple teams ahead of us lost so I am thinking maybe between 20-22. Keep winning, slowly moving up the poll. Keep it going boys.

We were ranked 12-16 on nine ballots last week, but were left off 35 entirely.  Two convincing wins will retain those high votes and should convince about 20 of the NR voters to rank SJU 23-25.

#19 would have had such a better ring to it, but this is still awesome.  Beat a tough St. Mary's team and we will be inside 15 me thinks.  Big game, bad matchup.  Get it done.
