Please Baldi...you believe (and perpetuate) every negative rumor you ever hear about SJU basketball.  If a guy wearing a north pole hat in Columbus Circle told you all the SJU players were naughty you'd believe in Santa real fast.

one thing about felix, although i haven't seen scoring ability is he does have the tenacity and athleticism to be a really good defender.

Felix is very athletic and can defend this might be an opportunity for him going forward with St. John's. If he gets the redshirt waiver for last season he will have 2 years left and can be a great role player for the Johnnies. I had the opportunity to watch him play everyday at Our Savior. Kid is an athlete.  He has a decent jump, very athletic, and can defend. He works hard also. He was very upset he was going to get redshirted before his freshman season and played out of his mind in practice. He is that type of player. Would like to see him get some minutes.

I am the president of the Balamou fan club, but he has been playing scared this season. He isn't on the same page as the rest of the guys.  It's harder for a guard/sf to play limited minutes than a big.  It's understandable, but he's too timid and it takes until he makes his first good play to start playing with confidence.

Balamou sucks
I think that is a harsh criticism...although can't argue with fact that his play has been poor...just doesnt look confident at all...not sure if a function of feeling the need to contribute or, as you have noted, albeit a bit strongly -- he just isn't that good....I guess we'll find out soon enough whether extended play will reveal one way or the other

I think we'll see a mindset change with one of these guys. Going into a game knowing you are primarily giving another player a break is different when you realize you will be in to become part of the game. We shall see who shows up.

Mindset can change, guys don't get good at BASKETBALL over night. We don't have a track meet today.

I think Balamou will surprise with extended minutes. His biggest problem has been confidence.

I would list his biggest problems in this order:
1. Talent
2. Shooting ability
Considering #1 and #2 I don't blame him for his lack of confidence. Seems like a smart kid.

He can't dribble or shoot well.  Hard to be confident when you are a guard who can't contribute in that manner.   Extra mins won't change that.

I think this opens extra mins up for Jones and Amar.

I would give the minutes to Jessica Alba kid. Has a nice stroke. Stretch four, I think he can knock down a couple of threes a game. Not Lavin kind of player, so unfortunately he won't play much.
