Because we ran out of gas.

This is going to be a repetitive story for rest of year.  we keep it tight in 1st half then foul trouble and tired legs will kill us.  We saw it against Gonzaga, saw it against Butler, and saw it again yesterday.

Rarely do I call out a player but damn it's really sad watching him play. Doesn't even appear as if he wants it. Need to get him to buy in to coming off the bench and playing his ass off bad. He could be a wrecking ball if he played hard but he's soft.

This team NEEDS him to step up in the worst way.

Dave
For whatever reason there are some really ugly girls on my floor at work. Only couple decent looking ones, but not enough eye candy to get you through a miserable day at work. I would really like some of the ugly girls to step it up and start looking like Kaley Cuoco(just recently started watching Big Bang repeats and I am fan). See where I am going with this analogy?

You're resigned to banging the ugly ones?

So did Seton Hall against us. So did Butler against us. Notice a pattern?

Nope, happily married but would help with morale. Same rules apply for cheerleaders, bartenders and waitresses.

I've always felt that it was my obligation to take care of the ugly ones.  Hopefully, God rewards me in Heaven.

Although , we. Need another big, he just doesn't provide us w anything. Rather see JDR play more, at least he is huge, plays hard ,provides valuableD and  can rebound.  Also think Stewart should get more burn. That would give us 8 men and can solve our depth problem and spell our starters.

Stewart is another shining example of the Lavin PR machine.  Kid plays a lot does well.  Throws out a bunch of great comments about him and his promise.  Then starting with game right after those comments you never see him again.

He's also in the most log jammed position of the team. Stewart was a nice addition and low risk high reward getting him as a preferred walk-on.

I'm sure some of them have one redeeming quality you could work with. See what I'm saying?

Yes, Dave.  But do you any confidence that this staff can get the most out of whatever the bench can give us?  Because I dont. Aside from year 1, when Dunlap was here as an asst, Lavin and Co. have not displayed the ability to do that. Last year should have been the most balanced team of the Lavin era and he couldn't get the team in the tourney. This year lacks size and depth because of recruiting failures and the last three games are leading me to believe that Lavs and Co aren't going to figure out a way to play small ball effectively.

This last week is as disappointed as I've been in the Lavin era. Even last year I bought into Sheed maturing and Karr staying to form a loaded squad this year.  Over the past 2 years, I don't think that any team in the conference besides Nova and maybe Gtown has had more top 50/75 guys on their roster. And yet we continue to disappoint. I cannot y justify a scenario where Seton Hall - which was a joke a year ago at this time -- makes the tourney over St John's and Lavin in year 5. And no one else should be accepting of that.

Bigger than the recruiting failures is the lack of development of Felix Balamou and Christian Jones. If you recruit sleepers, they need to wake up at some point. In year 5, there is no continuity whatsoever. I was furious with for being selfish enough to put the program in a position where it had to replace 10 players, but Lavin has done the exact same thing.

In Lavin's defense, we only need to find replacements for 5 players as thats all that contribute to this team anyway
