They're running a similar defense at us that Xavier had so, much success versus St. John's last season.  The same one Butler used on us, as well.  Hedging out hard to stop any drives to the basket.

exactly, theyre coming out aggressively on the ballhandlers, we need to slip the ball back to the pick man,
look for some back door cuts if theyre playing dangelo tight, and reverse the ball quickly while theyre out of position doubling the ballhandler.     there are ways to attack this

but seriously, we need Obekpa.   Its not just josh smith, its hopkins and copeland too.   im tired of seeing good D wasted because georgetown gets a putback.

why branch ever came out is a mystery to me too.

But the simple truth is, our goose is cooked if Obekpa isnt able to play.  weve already given up 10offensive boards, and its still the first half.

Sometimes Lavin makes substitutions just for the sake of making substitutions

I think Obekpa was hobbling a bit after he came down from attempting a block on Hopkins.  I don't see us winning, if he has to sit the rest of the way.  Georgetown will be hesistant with Obekpa looming, as well.  No Obekpa; no worries for them.

yea, rafferty said something about blood on his jersey, but on the foul you could see obekpa came up limping.
Since we havent seen him since, Im guessing its not good.

Only down 10. Could have been a lot worse.

A chronic ankle injury would be a problem going forward as well. Activate Keith Thomas. :)

Too many turnovers and too many offensive boards for the opposition.

As, bad as we've played, we're still only down by 10 points.  We've gotta get out to a good start the first 5 minutes of the half.

would be devestating to a team that was lean in the frontcourt to begin with.
Thomas and ADR situations would really be coming home to roost.

Unfortunate.

We got 0 from Harrison and Jordan combined.  Need to come out quickly and get both of them involved!!

early on we were making some good passes, but turned a few of them over.
As the game progressed we stopped making the extra pass and started forcing the power dribble drive.
IMO, thats forcing a square peg into a round hole.

Refs are horrible

But yet there were countless tick tack calls in the first half. Inconsistent refs are the worst.

now were playing lazy defense.   3 of our defenders jumped out of their shoes on ballfakes leading to that dunk.

Harrison and Jordan is MIA, and Obekpa is injured.  Consistently, having defensive breakdowns on top of it.

That is a recipe for disaster.
