Seton Hall - Player of the Game
« on: February 21, 2015, 02:11:49 PM »
Dom, Dom and more Dom.  The guy played awesome.

This was a fun game to watch.  It was nice to see the seniors pull away at the end.
Momentum to end a game sometimes carries over to the next one.  Lets hope that's the case here.

Went with Greene. Hit big shots when we needed them.

Everyone played well. Don was by far best player in court

Went with dom but I dont think we win without Branch. He was on the court for our pull away run and had a flurry of great passes and big baskets.

Dom was insanely awesome but I thought Greene was extremely clutch shooting the 3. He really rung the bell when it was needed and he earned my vote. Also thought Branch was superb off the bench.

Greene had a great game. But Dom had 10 rebounds w 20 points ,3 blocks ,assists and steals. Plus great D. Not only do I call him MVP of the game but I call him MVP of the season.

Other than the Offensive Boards Seton hall got, I feel St John's played extremely well. I feel like our best 6 each contributed exactly what they needed in order to win this game. 20 Assists is also an awesome stat, the ball movement was crisp today, Sheed got 6 assists which was a surprise.

But Player of the Game is the man who is everywhere and does everything: Sir'Dom Pointer!!!

Dom and Phil played great basketball today. Off the bench in the second half, Branch contributed nicely off the bench. Dom is my vote, but this was a great team effort. Lotta guys played well.

Dom for sure.  But those baskets by Branch were huge

Completely unrelated, but I was looking up NCAA Stats to see where Dom ranked across the country.

I sorted by FG% and there is some 6'6 sophomore on Belmont shooting 71% from the field and averaging nearly 15 points. Are all of his shot attempts dunks or something?

Best player on the court today was Dom, but player of the game was Phil with honorable mention to Jamal.

Once again it was the unlikely ( no 3'lo ) senior Batman and Robin combination of Sir with much Love and the Ellipse placing the team on their broad shoulders as they valiantly attempt to will the Johnnies to the Ncaa tourney finish line.

P of the G first and second spots reversed from the Gtown game as this time Dom gets the nod with an astoundingly superb stat line. He even hit a 3 for goodness sake.

Phil scored 20 pts.on 7 for 13 shooting ( 54% ) and for the second consecutive game hit four 3 pointers, shooting the same remarkably efficient 4 for 8 ( 50% ) from deep as the last game.  The timing on these threes could not have been any better as Mr. Clutch made 3 of 4 at critical junctures of the second half.

He also added 4 assists and a steal and finished with a 2 to 1 asst/turnover ratio.

Or to put it in terms that our slower readers can understand..."He's awful"!

Phil hit a few HUGE 3 pointers today. He was clutch. He gets my vote.

Savior also deserves credit for a fine outing.  Perhaps he was Alfred the butler.

Take your pick...Dom or Phil were both great.  Big Shot Phil!  When there is a third guy hitting from the outside, Phil's job becomes so much easier.  Today we had four guys hitting from down town.

I'm voting for Dom again.  If the season ended today, he'd be my vote for Big East POY.

Jordan played well too.  Branch really stepped up too.  Tough to beat us when we're firing on all cylinders.

Dom, though Greene had a good offensive game with key buckets.  Dom is already my MVP for the season, great line nearly every game

I went with the Jamal.

Btw, today was the most controlled Sheed I have seen. I think he rushed 1 shot but overall played with great poise. Didn't force it. I thought for sure he'd be extra hyped to go against whitehead

The box score reveals that all of the "Big six" had a good day.  I guess you have to look at the defensive/rebounding effort and credit the Hall for keeping it close for 33 minutes.
