Ranking the NCAA Starters
« on: March 17, 2015, 02:27:36 PM »
We came in at 31 (Dee), 114 (Dom), 117 (Sheed), 121 (Phil), and 192 (Branch).  Dom deserves significantly higher.

29. Marcus Paige, North Carolina -- He's struggled through injuries this season and hasn't performed quite as well as many expected. But Paige can still put the Tar Heels on his back.

30. Justise Winslow, Duke -- He's a tough, athletic wing who defends. Winslow averaged 12.3 points and 5.9 boards while shooting an impressive 40 percent from 3.

31. D'Angelo Harrison, St. John's -- The senior from Texas plays with a high motor and is tremendous when he's playing under control. Averaged 17.5 points and 5.4 rebounds for the Red Storm.

32. Kyle Wiltjer, Gonzaga -- The Kentucky transfer can really score -- in the post and also from the perimeter. He averaged 16.7 points and shot 47 percent from 3 with the Zags.

33. Justin Anderson, Virginia -- I'd have him somewhere around 10 if he were at full strength, but he dropped after a broken finger and an appendectomy kept him off the court for a month.

...

114. Sir'Dominic Pointer, St. John's -- The 6-6 senior averaged 13.5 points and 7.6 boards.

115. Norman Powell, UCLA -- The senior guard averaged 16.4 points and 4.7 rebounds this season.

116. Thomas Walkup, Stephen F. Austin -- The 6-4 junior wing averaged 15.7 points and 6.4 boards and was the Southland tourney MVP.

117. Rysheed Jordan, St. John's -- The sophomore guard averaged 14.3 points and shot 36 percent from 3.

118. Jonathan Holmes, Texas -- He slowed down after a terrific start, and the senior forward averaged 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds.

119. Bryce Alford, UCLA -- Steve's son put up 14.1 points and five assists this season.

120. Marcus Thornton, Georgia -- The senior forward averaged 12.3 points and 7.2 boards for Mark Fox's team.

121. Phil Greene IV, St. John's -- The senior guard averaged 13.2 points and shot 40 percent from 3.

....

192. Jamal Branch, St. John's -- The former Texas A&M Aggies guard averaged 4.8 points this season for Steve Lavin.

Pointer should be way up on that list

I agree but he hasn't done much the last two games to really stand out.

Everyone knows Harrison and he has put up big scoring numbers.  Dom went unnoticed till this year for the most part.

If they press like their board says. Dom is going to have a big day. We are going to play 5 guards at times. I am liking this matchup. Just have to hit open 3's.

I think they typically are long and guard the three point line.

Absurdly difficult to accurately put together, and absurd that Dom is that low.

Obekpa could have really helped with that task!

ESPN underrated a big east player? No Way!
