Happy to amuse you on Twitter (crackbillionair@crackbillionair). Until now, just been lurking, reading, and getting great amusement from you folks. Anyhow, saddened by the probability of an extension. I thought we had a chance to improve the program, via the axiom, good riddance to bad rubbish. And I liked Lavin a lot in year 1 & 2, endorsed the hiring, etc. Only, how much snake oil can one man sell? The basketball product is putrid. They took off the whole month of January. Very low IQ team. First time they see something, second time, third, still befuddled.
I feel like Lavin is a politician, first. So much rhetoric, so little substance. Critical junctures come in games, and he has the vacant stare of a porn star. The bar is so low here, really. Such a low character kid he attracts, and then we are literally praying guys are eligible all summer, when he can actually lock up recruits, though those days seem gone. Obviously the team, as it sits now, is gonna be roundly picked for 9th/10th in the conference, and with good reason. I love how so many ppl love Amar...he could not get regular minutes as 7th man on a 6 man squad, but we are supposed to have all these high hopes for him and the "European Pipeline."
More snake oil. I'd love to add real talent from anywhere, honestly. But I can't give this staff blind faith. I can't pin my hopes on long shots, and while I would like to have some hopes for guys like LoVett & Randall, it's gonna be Norvel Pelle & ADR all over again. Plus, when they get a kid who can play and is not a total head case, the staff, led by Lavin, is constantly re-recruiting that kid each year. JaKarr was recruited when he was a HS player, and then at the end of every yr he played for us. DH, PG, RJ, CO -- constant re-recruiting. I feel like we get such a low quality of kid, the kind who can bolt at any time, like the guard from Phily (Mini Wilt), and then Lavin will push out anyone, musical chairs with scholarships and such, that the net effect is a transient program where no one is loyal to the university.
Prediction: if we get Diallo, Lavin will keep Christian Jones & whomever else is friendly with Diallo, and if we don't, he's gonna dump plenty of these guys overboard to recruit as many ringers as he can trap, because he may have gotten this extension, but we have no squad & now he has to feel some pressure since half the base called for his head. And because that's in his character. Anyhow, thanks to all yall, & shouts to MarcoBaldi and Avon Barksdale over at Redmen.com.
I'll be supporting the program, as always, and tweeting about that, tennis, herb, chicks, Jets, Knicks, Rangers & TV @crackbillionair. Only, I am gonna hold off on going gaga for kids who are likely to be ineligible, European unicorns, JUCO unicorns and whatnot, until they suit up for real, & I wish everyone would adapt a similar stance, because the Brooklyn Bridge is not for sale.
BTW, excellent stuff about Dwayne Wade, guys, & also, 16th C. Portugal. Had me rolling.
