I student taught at Lake George High School two years ago. Got to see Joel Wincowski play quite a bit. One of the best pure shooters I've ever seen at the high school level. Excited to see him play this year.

Yeah, but Class C.  Those are schools with like 100 boys total.  You need to convince some band nerds to play to field a team.

Haha, yes I know it's class C. Still an amazing shooter. He's not going to defend or drive on anybody at the D1 level but I would advise SJU to not leave him open.

New players, new staff.  A little early to assume these guys will play like last group, no?

UMBC is  a good match up.  Very young with a soph core and three freshman in rotation.  One senior and no size to speak of.  They start four guards at and 6'8 forward. Only one guy over 225 in rotation.

This really should be a double-digit win and there won't be many of those this season.  This would actually be a game where Balamou's athleticism and defense would make a big difference.

We did it under Norm and Lavin.  If my memory went back to Jarvis we probably did then.  We always seem to allow those kids like the one above light us up during those early season CA games.  Not being negative.  Just relaying history.

I was really happy with what I saw from Sima, and Mussini. Hope they keep it going.

I'd like to see someone take a big more of a controlling role on the offensive side of things, because right now, overall, I think this team really doesn't have one or two guys they can really rely on for a bucket. Obviously that will come with time, just want to see positive signs.

Was really expecting Durand to do that.  Was also expecting him to control a bit more when Mussini was out.  I knew Mouvika had experience at the PG but was just expecting more from Durand during those stretches.

Agree on both counts. Unless Johnson does step up to control things more, I suspect teams will wear Mussini down & detract from his scoring by constantly pressuring him.  Ron M'V's handle seems lacking a bit & it would be a lot to ask of Ellison to play substantial minutes at PG v good teams. Stating obvious, but our two biggest weaknesses IMO are absence of true PG & interior depth. Go Johnnies!

Don't get me wrong, I both fear and expect it too.  I just don't think it's fair to let our negative experience as fans of this program carry over the new players and staff.  Defense will certainly be an issue any time you have to start three freshmen.  I've heard some really good things about St. Jean from everyone I've talked to about him.

That's awesome. I coach at the school he beat in the section finals last year. Totally steam rolled us. Really good player. Excited to see him, had forget that is where he went.

I am hoping to see some athletes. I don't think we had any fast break points last game. I am hopeing Durand and Ellison can run and get some easy buckets.

We were in a groove, making great passes, but now we've started trying to do too much. Still, I like the help d inside. Let's move around on offense and get back to what built this lead.

Mussini may not be a pure PG but he is handling the job.  Intelligent play.  Hope Lovett qualifies because there is no backup for Mussini...he could wear out by midseason.

Kid is definitely solid but you may be jumping the gun, lets see how he does in BE play.....next year the guard play should be great, hopefully two pure points and this kid.  ( Baldi, I  thought I was an optimist but you are in a class alone)

Loved the way we played tonight. Sima is going to be great.
