Unfortunately without a pt guard the maturation of this team will be slowed.

This game was a debacle almost from the outset.  The crowd was too loud for this team.  There was too much pressure from Fordham.  That's how we'll be played all year. Rhooms looked like Wes Unseld out there the way he schooled Sima and Yakwe. We should have kept Chiles.
Mvoka and Johnson are stopgaps...that's it.  They shouldn't be the latest targets.  I'm glad they chose to come here...but even if they morph into gym rats, they won't get much better.  It is what it is.  Federico needs beaucoup work to be a point guard.  He's a freshman...we have two players injured and the NCAA screwed us with Lovett.
It was a tough night.

Team very weak with the ball especially Mussini and Sima, guess that's why we have the saying be strong with the ball. Terrible passing tonight, lack of player and ball movement. Crowd was intense and Fordham played with much more intensity. Yakwe is certainly a live body. Bring on St. Francis another local that will be sky high for us playing at MSG.

I was there with my Johnnies gear on. Let me just say that we had an unpleasant experience with the Fordham fans. The lack of class displayed from rows A to Z was appalling, and I was in the chair back section. In victory, they didn't know how to act or contain themselves, for adults to behave this way was simply embarrassing. I was also at the 2010-11 upset at Rose Hill as well, and that wasn't much different. My brothers and I left that gym tn just about as angry as Mullin. Fordham fans don't appreciate St. John's fans one bit. The 48 point beatdown was payback enough 2 years ago, but man I now can't wait for the years to come.

And then a random fordham fan will see st johns fans giving it to them. And then that fordham fan will speak ill of st johns fans.

And I wasn't there, so im not saying they were good, bad, or awful. I'm saying that fan bases are never as bad as other teams say there are, nor are they as good as they're own fans think.

*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

There is no excuse for not hustling on defense. Durand Johnson gave this game to Fordham. It was as if he meant to do it. Holifield looked like a deer in headlights in the few minutes he's been given, but if Mullin is trying to establish what kind of team he's building, he needs to acknowledge who is playing hard, and who isn't.

I would rather have Holifield go 1-10 but hustle, than watch Johnson's bullshit effort.

I was wrong to call him the new Avery Patterson. He's nowhere near as good as Patterson. There, I said it.

Mullin spent the night pointing his finger at calls the refs missed. There was no coaching tonight. This was a complete waste.

Dissapointing to hear. The broadcast was basically all about Fordham, (duh it was the A10 network) although they would talk about SJU they didn't show the bench or Mullin at all.

Hopefully he was teaching them more post game.

It's also classless to not play hard, and that was St.John's tonight. Fordham had a great turn out. They deserved to win tonight, and I'm glad that the Fordham fans gave it to St.John's. I hope our guys are embarrassed, because they were disgusting tonight, and they earned it.

I was 3 rows behind the SJU bench last night and those commenting on Mullin not coaching are way off base.  Yes he appropriately rode the refs in the 2nd half (and if he didn't people would ask "why not") but he consistently pulled guys aside (Yakwe, Mussini, Sima ) making coaching points etc

I was in same area & concur. St. Jean btw was also animated & furious over defensive lapses in particular. Glad we have him.
