We are taking teams to the wire with all freshmen, no PG, now no center.  Very encouraging.  Imagine what Mullin and crew will be able to do with some talent and experience!

Great effort. Also liked the offensive and defensive game plan. The substitutions at end of the game and press weren't great though -- should have done same as Xavier game

100% agree with this. Excited to see how they do next year and the year after when we have more pieces in place. Marquette and Xavier are good teams and we stayed with them and even outplayed them for stretches. Hope they keep this up and secure a couple W's over the next few weeks.

If Sima makes it back this year I would like to see Yawkee and him play together a lot more

Its already been touched on, but Durand Johnson is a real head scratcher. The 1-on-3 drive into the lane, the off balance shots w/o passing the ball around.

What's up with Slice on the bench? He looks miserable, like he would rather be somewhere else.
One of his "John Gotti" suits is missing in his dry cleaners.

LOL! Someone took his table at Rao's?

We are playing much better. But this is not all freshman. It's 4 freshman. 3 today. They are learning how to play d without fouling on every possession, and they rebounding. Today they shot very well, too.

Most of the top contributors are freshmen, because we haven't had much else.  They've been sima, Mussini, Yakwe and Ellison heating up a bit.  They ones who aren't freshmen were perennial bench players or journeymen 5th year guys.  it's a bit of a rag-tag bunch who all only started playing together like 3 months ago.  It's still hard for coaches to get all of the patchwork of talent playing somewhat on the same page.  Once Mullin and co are able to groom their own young talent, I think we will really see what we can do...

Just keep fighting...they are showing a lot of pluck.

The ballas are coming...this won't take long to turn around.

Was at the game, was Lovett? Felix should never shoot outside of 5 feet. Yakwe is a stud

How was it out there?  What's there to do besides the game?

DJ2 was our leading scorer on 7 for 11 shooting and 4 for 7 from three.  Plus he had a steal and a blocked shot.  Any criticism of him today is ridiculous.

I don't see the improvement Mullin is talking about(free throws, turnovers)...but my gut tells me the program is on the upswing.  The players have to hit shots.  With some of the bricklayers gone next year, the sky will be the limit.

Plenty of cool bars right near Harris center. Campus was cool but snowy. Short trip

The guy makes the first three of his career and now you want to cut him off, just when he's getting hot. Typical.

I don't think anyone should have any concerns about our front court next year.  Talented and deep.  And if our biggest worry is relying on two freshmen guards who are extremely talented then I am not to worried.

Saw the game again on DVR this morning.  Agree with Foad: game turned on scoreless stretch caused by consecutive turnovers and 2 out of context offensive fouls called on benign picks.  We have too little margin for error to get through such things.  On a positive note, Yakwe was absolutely brilliant.  Turned athletic blocks into fast breaks and singlehandedly kept us in the game. Know he's young and will be inconsistent, but he has to be playing more if he's going to get better, even when Sima returns.  If that means less CJ and AliB,  then so be it; the kid's got to be 30+ every game to get him ready for next year.  Overall, this team is improving: playing better D and more cohesive offense.  Know it's difficult for them to continue to play so hard and keep losing, but credit to the coaching staff for keeping them focused, motivated, and ready to play every day.

This might sound crazy, and I never thought I would say this, but amar should really be getting time too. His defense is never going to be good, but his offensive game is really filling out. He's shown a great ability in the mid range and even gets to the hoop well at times. He could be a useful piece when we need an offensive spark at the 4. Those two at the four. With sims at the 5 (and Owens) sounds pretty good to me. Definitely excited for the next couple of years.

I think Freudenberg would essentially phase Amar out of any future plans should he come here

Would think so, but one will be a Fr. And the other a jr., so we will see.
