These referees should be hanged. 53 fouls and 66 FTs - comprising a 20 point differential in a 2 point game with a minute left. They should be hanged.

I could have stood to see those kids play another game tomorrow.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

I don't often blame officials, but this was disgusting.  Gus Johnson was straight-up disgusted.  At one point he said "St. John's has to play defense without making contact or even touching Marquette."

You call touch  fouls all game long but when St. John's actually tries to foul with 15 seconds left and body slams Cheatham to the ground, you let them play on for a three-point play?  Jesus.

I don't care if Jones score 80, you can't rely on him late.

Wow man. Would it kill you?

And fwiw, there could have (should?) been a foul called on all three of those possessions. If the refs have an off night next game, it'll be an improvement.

And the usually reliable Bill Rafferty was sucking their dicks the whole time. It was a sad thing to see.

Raft was disappointing tonight.  There was some tension between them late.

Refs were terrible down the stretch, but that Ellenson 3 in the corner right after Ron's 3 that put us in the lead was a knife in the heart. Johnson didn't close out hard and had his hands down the whole time. If Ellenson is catching the ball in the corner like that you have to close out hard with your hands up and make him try to put it on the floor and go past you.

Zzzzz. 66 free throws and 55 fouls in 40 minutes, it doesn't matter whose hands are up when in front of whom.

Good effort by the team. Refs were horrendous for sure. We couldn't even play defense without being called for a foul. Looking forward to next season but wish we had a better called game in the season finale.

Is it just me or is Gus Johnson a HUGE St. John's fan?

He sure wasn't a fan of the refs.

Frankly I feel fine about putting the balls away. Crap roster, new staff, yeah, but this is dreadful & hard to rationalize there's been much improvement.

Clean slate, new faces & player improvement this summer hopefully equates to a team that can at least compete most nights.

Work on changing up defenses, as well.  Too reliant on man-to-man, IMO.  I was hoping to see some zone tonight after our run (1-3-1 was my preference).  It may have caught Marquette off guard and warranted key turnovers or rushed shots.

#$%^ing horrible ref show tonight. Screwed these dudes out of another game. The Big East should be embarrassed.

With that said, glad to move on to the off season and get geared up for what's next.

I forgot to give credit to jones, he was very good. 13-21 is extremely efficient. As myself and others have said before he will be a nice bench piece next year if he does decide to stay.

How can you win when the other team shoots 49 foul shoots

Also thought the turning point was when Johnson pulled up for a jumper instead of going to the hop because he knew no matter what the refs would call a charge on him

The only thing I wont miss is the terrible officiating almost always going against SJU

Guys always played hard

It was really fun when we had that lead for 12 seconds.

Season ticket holder since 1988 and live and die by this team but relieved the season is over.

Success for next year = top half of Big East , NIT .  Bubble would be nice. Marcus Lovett !!!!
