Would like to assume for 2012, but don't know that for sure.

We've got room for both
But wouldn't that exclude turner and or wood?

Yes I just don't want to have to wait out the NCAA for Chandler without having a fall back plan

Certainly sounds like he is going to prep.  From a Rivals.com Minnesota Golden Gophers article:

Heading into his senior year at Milwaukee Riverside Nolan had accumulated offers from the likes of Baylor, Clemson, Marquette, Minnesota, Oregon, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Texas A&M, and many others. He visited Oregon, Marquette, and Clemson last fall. But in November he didn't make a college decision. The 6-foot-10, 210 pound center ranked 118th in the class of 2012 could possibly be a member of the class of 2013.

"I still really haven't quite figured out yet what I am going to do next year," said Nolan Sunday. "I'm leaning towards going to a prep school because I need to get stronger and improve my game. If I go to prep school I will be going to St. John's Military School in Delafield, Wisconsin."

I don't understand why a borderline top 100 big man like Nolan would prep just to get stronger.  The kid has tons of good offers already.  Only reason he preps is if he doesn't have the grades IMO, because he has big time schools offering already.

+1.   I think that "get stronger" comment is just cover because he knows he has to prep to get better grades.   If he were elidgible he'd be signing with somebody, I agree.

You're forgetting that Kadeem Jack from Rice H.S. did the samething two years back.  He only lasted a few months in Prep school before going home and ultimately going to rutgers and redshirting.  He of course was injured at the beginning of this year.

I like him. He may not have an immidiate impact like Chandler. But over the years he will really develop. Also nice to have someone in case Chandler doesnt qualify, Although not sure what year Nolan would be. Lavin always said he wants 2 players at every position. I feel it would be idieal to have him and Chandler. If Chandlers does qualify it is possible he could be going to the NBA after 2 years and Nolan can take over as our starting Center. Still feels he gets a lot of minutes regardless. Hopefully he ll commit

Plus battling chandler in practice will make him a lot better than another year in prep school

There's been talk for a couple of seasons that he'd need a prep year. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

My fingers are definitely crossed on this one, and it would be a big accomplishment to go up there and pluck an eligible kid away from Marquette and the Badgers. Wisconsin seems to produce more big men than New York these days, so always good to have some sort of presence there.

I sense a commitment on the horizon.  Let's do this, Phil!

Who's next, Turner or Chandler?

If i have to pick one , Gotta be Chandler.  I don't know the scholarship situation. Turner would have to sit a full year anyway i think, right?  I feel good about Greene, Branch at the PG position.   Harrison can also play point at times if we go big.  Turner is a stud though. Don't think staff turns away that kind of talent.  Turner knows this is last shot, so should be on best behavior.  Exciting Time to be a fan.

Very very exciting times ahead.
Why not all 3 ( 3 of Nolan Chandler, Turner & Wood)
2 in Sept- one verbals for 2013 & preps?

Although I like Wood- we're overloaded @ his position so least likely
