Be wary of being overly critical about the three point shooting of freshmen guards that play out of position through no fault of their own due to necessity. 

Sometimes they turn into league leading three point shooters later in their careers.

Easy now.  That's rarified air around here reserved for only our best and brightest.  Michigan and the Triangle are the only two I can think of who ever achieved this.

correction: Max Hooper achieved it with a smaller sample size.

Oh yeah - expectations.

I expect lots of losing with Atlantis being the highlight of the year.

They are equally implausible

I expect us to win 15 games give or take a game or two. I expect us to be much better to watch. I expect Ponds and Lovett to put up similar stats to what Porter and Harvey did and to be my favorite backcourt since Bootsy and Barkley. I expect Ahmed to be our best player. I expect Mullin to look more involved. Maybe even draw up a play or at least be allowed in the huddle. I expect posters to complain.

I think if we had LoVett last year, we'd have won 4 or 5 more games. Possibly more. NJIT, Xavier twice, Marquette 3 times etc. we played some close ones where the other team had a significantly better ball handler, playmaker and defender at the 1. There was no greater mismatch in the BE conference than our point guard going up against a real one.

What's more likely to happen....10 or less wins or NCAA tournament? Feeling the latter

I won't be surprised if this team wins anywhere from 12 games to 24 games. There are more questions than answers, and that goes for the staff as well as the players.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm not keeping March open on my calendar just yet.

I personally think sima is getting underrated by pretty much everyone.  He was progressing by leaps and bounds until the injury derailed the rest of his season IMO.  Was not the same player when he returned.  After a summer of hitting weights and working on his game and with a legit PG I think everyone will be raving about him next year.   I don't doubt it may not be until junior year that he really becomes a monster but I'm expecting something like 12 and 9 and 2.5 from him.  With Lovett and ponds drawing the defense attention on penetration I expect sima to get a couple easy buckets a game and then a few more that he works for, on average.

Based on the fact that he will be playing behind two of our best players in Ahmed and Yakwe. If he is really good they can always move Ahmed to the two sometimes I guess.

You could pitch a tent while he's backing his man down in the paint. He's got be faster. That may work on the small schools, but in the BE, he was overmatched. He certainly had some stellar games, like vs RU and SU, but where did that guy go? Is it just his hand?

In the early part of the season , I thought he would be a future NBA player.  After he came back from the injury he didn't look so good. Whether that was due to him still being injured or playing better competition I don't know. I am reserving judgement until next year.
