I'm sure he prepared.  I don't think Chris Mullin knows how to do something without being prepared.  I'm just questioning whether he can do this to begin with and it is becoming apparent that there is no one on the staff who can help him with the learning curve.

Just like he was prepared for the division 2 team that pressed us out our building.

I'm always going to find a way to watch the games -- absent an impossible conflict like I had tonight -- because I'm a die-hard.  If I watched the post-Pittsburgh decable, the early Norm years, and last year, I can watch this.  But this is bitterly disappointing and, as a die hard SJU fan, the last coach I want to see getting the deserved blame he is getting is the guy we have.

Had a work conflict and couldn't watch this game.  Based on the score, God am I glad.  Absolutely inexcusable loss.  This board won't be fun for a few days, and that is completely understandable.  Staff needs to get this s*** together now.  I could deal with last year.  Hell I could deal with playing competitive games in the Bahamas even though we shouldn't be freaking losing to ODU.  But Delaware St at home.  Jesus.

I guess I'll go back to what I did a season ago....  Watch the games when I could or didn't have anything else to do (even then I was often changing the channel).

It just sucks when you watch teams with much less talent than the Johnnies who perform at a much higher level. Good coaching and having a system on O and D is much more enjoyable to watch than 5 talented guys who play with no chemistry and get little direction.

We somehow managed to find a coach more clueless than Lavin. I didn't think it was possible

Looks a lot like the devil you know now.

Coaching basketball is easy. Theme all summer. You hire rich older guys. They may not be lazy but they are not working for a paycheck. Which team do you think watched more film?

Sima, Mussini & Freud played in Europe tourneys all summer.  It's the new way to get your game going in America.

Yakwe went to a new barbershop

Amar was filling out college transfer applications and taking batting practice w/ the baseball team

Owens the weight room and fridge was a steam room.

Basketball isn't that hard. Especially when you have much better players and athletes.Take good shots. Practice taking good shots. Make easy/good shots. Make it hard for the other team to take easy shots.scout the other team to make it harder for them to get easy points. Make defense a priority and dominate inferior opponents. Don't play your bum players until the game is out of reach. Don't let your bum players shoot Ever!

Ellison and Sima are awful. Freudenberg looks scared for some reason. Yakwe has the worst hands of any big man on the team.

Teams are gonna figure this out soon that if you shut down Ponds you beat us. We might not get 8 wins.

Good question on scouting the opposing team... Who is doing that on our staff ?  One of the new grad assistants ?

Delaware State is now trending on Twitter. Seems like every year some no name team that beats us trends on Twitter. Beating St. John's in basketball shouldn't be considered a big deal. We suck

That would be a good start but I think they'd have to buy Sima a set of balls too. He's soft as charmin.

Yes. The time to hire the big man coach was 2 years ago

I think a seasoned x & o bench coach preferably a former head coach is what is needed. Not really sure there is such a thing as a  "big man coach"

This is no disrespect to Greg St. Jean but there are just some things he won't know due to lack of experience. Big East is tough place to learn on the job.

I disagree. Our bigs need a coach to get in their arse, all summer. I don't even think the current staff worked with them
