Great road win for this young group against a team whose 4 best players are juniors, three of whom have been part of winning teams (and in games like this) most of their careers.
I also think Cartwright is a punk (nice player though), so happy to beat him and Easy Ed, who I've learned to grudgingly respect as a coach.
Defense is obviously still a problem. But we rebounded with purpose in the first half and actually out-rebounded them for the game (I think).
Yes, Lovett hit some shots that he wont' make on a consistent basis. But I really liked how he, Ponds and Ellison went to the bucket tonight, seemingly at will. I couldn't believe that we were able to consistently get to the goal.
I know many folks believe that our offense too often resembles an AAU game with one-on-one action. And I agree it definitely is that at times. Thought we were more under control tonight. I also think that with our current roster this is the only way we can play - spread teams out, drive off screen and rolls, kick, pull up or move the ball. Without a big on the roster who can score in the post, we are hamstrung in what we can do.
