St. John's guard Malik Ellison (thumb) will play tonight against Butler, per a source. #SJUBB

Braziller just noted Williams expected to play as well.

Very good news for our depth tonight.  It's one of our strengths.  Can't expect another from Alibegovic like the last one.

I think our promising young coach will give Da Ali B some minutes due to his explosion last outing.
I hope our coach explained to our 12th man, that it was great that he hit a 3 from that deep. But to never do that again. Let's hope Amar has enough towels to keep him busy tonight.

I guess whether or not this game is "huge" depends on what your goals are for this season.  At this point, my goals would be to remain in top 6 in the conference and play on friday night of the BE tourny.  so I don't think this is huge at all.  butler is a borderline top 25 team and we're playing at their home.  the marquette game (since we may be competing for the 6 spot) and the home games against providence and gtwon are much bigger from my perspective.  if we steal a road game against butler or creighton it's gravy.

He's not our 12th man.  I might be the only one,  but I like him.

Jimmy Jackson just said St. John's best defense is its offense. Can't take bad shots that lead to easy baskets. The key to this game and the remaining games in my opinion.

Dude, yeah! He's my favorite player, and has been for 3 years. Maybe it's because he's so bad I like to see him do well. Not sure....

Can't be giving them three opportunities on offense. Terrible start.

That possession is the reason we need to land a true 5 that can push people around and grab a rebound. That was pathetic

This isn't a size issue. It's a laziness issue. Box the f out.

Been saying this all year. Not a size issue. Effort/discipline issue.

Ellison just let a 6'0 guard run ten feet and go over him for a board and then fouled him. Awesome. What a lazy effort.

Amar not paying attention = wide open three pointer. He's learned nothing in 3 years. Neither Lavin's or Mullin's staff can work with him.
