Trimble is fine. Limited, but fine. Plays good defense and controls the ball well.
Agreed. Plays good d, but needs to learn a few lessons like anyone else. His game
limited now but he understands those limitations and plays within his abilities. He really protects the ball too. His shot will fall. I think he needs to clean up his shot selection just a bit.

Another ugly game. Nothing else to say except we survived again without Lovett.  10-2 is 10-2. We've beaten everyone worse than us and lost to the two teams that were equal or better.

It's a good thing the staff is taking your advice never to play Simon at the end of games, he sucks...

I said he shouldn't touch the ball at the end.  He missed two FTs tonight at the end and had a bery ill advised take that that his athleticism bailed him out of. He won't get away with that against against better player that don't have four fouls. He freezes up in tight spots. And Owens with the backdoor attempt to Ponds? Let's give the ball to Ponds at the end every time and leave the gambling for the blackjack tables.

Right...or people could just ignore your advice as complete nonsense being spouted by someone whose knowledge base hovers between the average fan and the local drunk at the end of the bar...

Haaa...genius

Trimble isn't trying to do too much.  I'm ok with that.  He can shoot, and is much more athletic than he's showing right now.  I'm ok with hm being a goof, big defender right now, and a 3-point shooter with good shot selection.  He will be fine.

I don't know. Seems like we have enough goofs on the team already.

I'd hope the staff doesn't read fan sites for advice. I don't pretend my opinions are any more valid than anyone else's, but what are your credentials to make that condescending statement? I've been on a national championship JUCO staff and coached several years. What have you done? Have you ever played an organized sport? Have you ever coached any team at any level?

Why was this game at 430?

casino strategy to maximize any guest gambling in evening?

Ah. Can't argue with that

Solid win. Solid pre-conference resume.

I like the lineup with yakwe, Owens, and Clark at the 3. Creates some mismatches and strengthens us on the boards. Clark eliminates his 2-3 boneheaded plays/dumb fouls and he is a big time weapon.

Once again a lot of complaining in what is just another win.  We don't have Lovett and they were missing guys as well, but we are an extremely thin team as well, even with Lovett heathy.  The fact is that we are still rolling and these are not non-competitive teams.  In addition, I think we are far from playing our best ball.  This is a good win because every win is a good win.   They all add up and record does matter at the end.  Our RPi and sos are very good.  In addition, it never hurt Cuse when Boeheim made those cupcake schedules all those years.  What matters is winning those games, which we have done.

Time to get Lovett healthy and play our best this Big East season.  We passed first part of test.  On to league play!

Agreed totally.....you saved me some typing

Great point on Clark. Seems a solid addition, but still finding his fit with the team.  Hopefully he settles in, avoids those lapses you referenced & provides the leadership, consistency & intangibles the team needs. He does not have to be a star, just a steady, heady player.

Wins are wins at this point in the season. The selection committee doesn’t care how much you win by. I think the staff and players did an excellent job in the non conference. The only two games we lost we were right in it until the end with Missouri banking in 3’s and Arizona State is the hottest team in the country. Get Marcus back and let’s keep rolling.

Marillac is in love with Ponds. If you say anything positive about Lovett or Simon, Marillac takes that as a criticism of Ponds.

After the game, Ahmed and Simon spent time taking pictures with fans before going into the locker room. I thought that was pretty cool of them. Mitch Richmond also posed for a picture with my son.

Both Ahmed and Simon are starting to become more comfortable in key spots during the game. Both are showing leadership skills. Ahmed is going to the basket at the right times, and he's really fighting on the offensive glass. Simon clearly had a great all around game.

Still, IDK why Simon throws up that ugly baby floater instead of going strong to the basket?

That and I ask myself the same thing about Clark. I've seen him put the ball on the floor and drive (although sparingly). He's pretty skilled. Mullin needs to tell him to take it to the hoop more.

Right because all 12 people that were in attendance at the game are big time gamblers.

Have you conceded yet that  Ponds is clearly best player on the team?

I like Ponds. Other than Anthony Mason jr I have always liked team's best player.
Unless your name is Marcus Hatten you are not making the tourney with only one good player. Team needs Lovett who is is their best shooter which is what I said I believe.
