Obviously happy we have Simon and appreciate his multiple assets. That said, I agree with Fun re: need for him to reduce the number of forced passes and highlight reel degree of difficulty plays at inopportune times often. From the time he got here, his rep was a guy gifted with great athleticism, solid defense and slashing ability. He was never viewed by most evaluators as a PG with a solid handle or a guy with a great deep stroke.
On the other hand, he has a few years left to refine his game and reduce unforced errors. I doubt, despite the Chris/Mitch shooting coach theories, that he will ever be a very good perimeter shooter. His handle may improve a bit, but at end of the day he may still be a stat stuffer, great athlete, solid defender and key component of the team, just not a PG. Great to have him in any event!
