NCAA needs to rethink these play in games. Play in games should be reserved for regular season champions that didn't win conference tournaments. Teams like Hofstra should be in

There were a handful of teams from mid to low majors that won the regular season but not the conference tournaments. Should both Hofstra and Northeastern be in? Should both St Francis PA and Fairleigh Dickinson be in?

I much prefer to see a good mid-major like Belmont play against a stronger conference team like Temple than destroy one of those smaller conference schools that couldn't win a terrible league (granted, there are always exceptions).  Belmont up 10 now but this has been a fun game, back and forth for most of it with lead changes.

Games have been pretty good so far. I just hope we don't get embarrassed in this tournament

It’s a new season. Time for Ponds to shine. He needs to put together a string of 30+ point games. He does have help. Heron and LJ are legit wing men and will apply pressure offensively. Simon, the reigning BE defensive player of the year, is Mr. everything. While Clark will force opposing centers to guard him out to the 3pt line. The question will be on defense. Mullin has the longest, most athletic team in the BE, but undersized. If Mullin has them playing defense then will be playing on Sunday.

UNCG would have been in over Temple I believe if it wasnt Dunphys last game. The committee will never admit it but they go for storylines

Minnesota vs. Louisville

Possible 2nd rd matchups between:
SJU vs. Texas Tech
SHU vs. Kentucky

Can’t all be coincidence.

I never thought Temple belonged in the tournament.  If we had been left out in the cold Sunday Night, I would have gone on an epic rant, both on Redmen, and my facebook page.

But, no harm no foul in the end.

Maybe I have missed something but why would SJU v. Texas Tech be one of those coincidental story lines

funny if people think that is a consideration..

Look at the other games mentioned

Minny v Louisville - obvious
SHU v Kentucky - SHU beat them earlier this year
Marquette v Murray  - battle of two highly regarded guards

May not have been a consideration of the Committee but it does have intrigue for St. John's fans and TO and maybe TT.

It doesn't cost money to dream. But how sweet it would be making the sweet 16, beating Owens.

Said the Mac fan that wins the conference tournament every year but might not one year.

That's a terrible idea. Obviously that hurts major conference teams like St. John's and we wouldn't be playing this year if that was the case.

Do you think St Johns deserved a bid?

Guess he didn't put them over the salary cap.

They are going to vacate all of these wins anyway so what's the difference
