I don’t buy that Mullin wasn’t given resources. He was given Barry R, and that guy lasted one season. Of course, St.John’s deserves plenty of blame, they hired him, but Mullin didn’t assemble a staff that could work together.

Yet another reason why he failed here.

I think we he talks about resources, he's talking about facilities.  Mullin's wife said as much in one of her final twitter rants.

Boynton just got his fourth 4 star and top 150 recruit. Safe to say he’s not coming here, even though Twitter said he was still in the mix. All signs point to James Jones...

Don't laugh at James Jones.  It could get worse - Matt Doherty.  Elon just passed over him for their head coaching job, but he's ripe for the picking if Oliva wants him.  Just be happy that Bruce Bent holds no pull at the school anymore (for obvious reasons).

Boynton would actually be perfect but no way it happens

The school should have pushed for Hewitt to be an assistant under Mullin the last couple years. Would have been solid in that role as an ex head coach that can recruit. He shouldn't be anywhere near the Head Coaching position at this point, but here we are. We are scraping the bottom of the barrel here

Since the job opened last Monday the term "Done Deal" has applied to the following coaches whether on Twitter or on the boards:

Bobby Hurley
Tim Cluess
Porter Moser
Tim Cluess
James Jones
Tim Cluess

Nothing will be a done deal until the press conference.

The way this has gone it's silly to think a press conference can stop us from screwing it up even more

All these names are Mehh.

This is downright insulting. The TV Networks aren't even going to want to show Johnnies games next year. They will make DePaul look like Duke.

Sources: Yale's James Jones, Paul Hewitt, and former Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson have now all emerged as candidates for the head coaching vacancy at St. John's. All three had dialogue with the school today. No timetable for a final decision. #SJUBB

If Mike Anderson is legitimately interested and they give it to one of the other two guys then they need to close up shop.

Mike Anderson would be the best coach we've had in quite some time. His tenacious coaching style is tailor made for the Big East. Nab the right assistants and who knows, we might retain LJF w him at the helm.

Belichick accepted and then resigned.

George O'Leary was hired to ND and then out a couple weeks later due to a fudged resume.

I'm not believing the hire until they hire a staff of assistants and they are all out recruiting.

#SJUBB Mike Anderson, no question.Over his 17 seasons as a HC, He has a 369–200 record, 11 20-wins, 9 NCAAs, two Sweet 16s and a Elite Eight. He is one of just 4  D I head coaches with 15+ years of experience and no losing seasons, along with Mark Few, Tom Izzo and Roy Williams.

If you take me back 2 weeks, I would still have him #2 next to BH (assuming Pitino is not a consideration)

This list of candidates is disgusting. We’ll be back in the same spot in three years.
