So Carmine you are intimating by your post that the better attendance of last year was because Mullin was the coach. Guess people came out to see him sit on the scorers table, tie his shoes and curse out the refs for the hole game. Has nothing to do with season tickets price increase along with requiring a financial contribution, and Mullin adding 4 more years of futility to a once proud program. You may also want to change from referring to our new head coach as CTC and start referring to him as CFC as during the early season telecasts the announcers have claimed that we offered the job to 3 other coaches before turning to MA.

I've never been a season ticket holder but attend many games a year including last night. Others so inclined could have done the same without the season ticket package and associated financial contribution.

I too thought the Razorback was our 4th choice, not the third. We had a back and forth about this on the board and the consensus was that Cluess wasn't offered hence CTC. Personally,  I had figured that his agent never had a contract delivered to his office, trying to spare us the embarrassment of being turned down by yet another coach, but that an informal offer must have been floated his way.

True dat.  That's why last season was such a pleasant aberration. The crowd numbers at Alumni were great all year.

Tuesday at 7:00 in Queens isn’t as crazy as Wednesday at 6:30, but it’s never been a big seller.

Mullin absolutely sold tickets last year. But not by himself. Shamorie ponds and an expected great team sold them also.

Without the great players. We have a Greg st. Jean coached team with a figure head yelling at referees. Attendance would not have lasted.

What does it say about the administration’s judgement if Mullin was our first choice, and four years later, a coach with a 369-200 career record is a 4th choice?

I we can fairly conclude that St.John’s doesn’t know how to evaluate a college basketball coach.

I don't think we went below 3500 - 4000 for any games last season.  The place was always more than half full.

Sell outs at Alumni would have been the Norm this year if not for the coaching change. Take it to the bank.

I really like Earlington's game and think his potential is really high. I got home when the game was 42-42 and focused on him a few possessions. He had a real nice post move at one point and drawed an and-1. Had a pretty nice euro step on a break. I watched him box out on D, cover a guy on a perimeter and cut off a few backdoor passes on the weak side.

Sloppy with the ball, dribbles too much, looks clumbsy on the break. Will be exposed when we get into BE play

It looks like the light is turning on for him. He was one of those "lets take a chance" recruits similar to Felix Balamou where they have some stuff that's elite and you think you can teach them the rest.

I think even just getting some minutes helps guys settle in and gain some confidence

Mullin should have given Roberts and Earlington more pt  against the patsies early last year, they would have been more prepared for the BE season and could have provided some much needed depth.

Only caught a few mins of the game but liked what I saw from Roberts and Rutherford. If Robert's can average the same 12 and 7 he had last night in big east play, we could move up a few slots

Earlington and Roberts last year didn't look like guys who would ever contribute.  Now they do.  Sure it is glass half full and the competition matters, but it is understandable why actual fans of the program are happy about it.  Pretend they wear royal blue and play for that fraud in South Orange and perhaps you'll join the kool-aid drinking with us lol.

Agree on the potential size issue.  I think it may be less of a problem than last year though once Steere is eligible and with Roberts/Sears.  I like certain things but remain concerned about the PG play and lack of scoring options.  Hopefully Dunn helps both and Steere helps the latter.

Yeah, cause you're truly objective. Anyway through three games Mullin's first year attendance was 13315. This year 10256. That's about a thousand fewer per game. Now ask what time the games were and how the weather was.

He’s a PF. You know that right? Find me two PFs in the Big East that handle better than him?

I doubt he gets the open court looks he’s been getting as the competition improves. I also expect him to get better.
