Yup, there goes that undefeated season we were all rightfully expecting given the great state of the program he inherited.

He inherited two Big East Second Team Preseason selections (one who was two-time All-SEC), an athletic monster in Roberts that fits his system perfectly, a guard in Williams that played very well in 10 mpg as a freshman for a tournament team (and fits his system well), a skilled and strong PF in Earlington, and the freshman of the year of a conference better than the America East—with a redshirt under his belt. He also inherited a monster 6’9 260 lb big man from NC State.

He also had a former top 100 recruit that played for a good SEC team that he lost and a top ten JUCO player he failed to re-recruit with a glaring need at the position.

He is the beneficiary of Shamorie’s high school teammate and local kid, Rasheem Dunn, having his coach fired late AND receiving a waiver from the NCAA. Dunn is definitely worthy of a Big East top 7 rotation role for a tournament caliber team.

He also had several months to add recruits, many of whom decommitted or transferred after he was hired.

Anyone that thinks this is a rebuilding year or that this should have been a rebuilding project when
Anderson was hired is not only nuts, but they are intentionally trying to lower expectations for Anderson.

Where was that athletic monster (Roberts) last year under the old regime? Hmmm I wonder. He looked liked a D3 player last year. Did him and Earlington magically transform in year 2 like so many of the former staffs players?

Did you ever think it may have to do with the coaching, instruction and guidance they received from a real, experienced college staff?

None of the young kids on this roster were expected to provide much and now you're acting like this roster was littered with future stars.

Williams was great last year. He showed every sign of a quality four year Big East player.

You can’t stop making strawmen arguments. Everything I write about Anderson brings you directly to Mullin. I’ve posted for years that Mullin was ok and nothing more. I’ve said that I think Anderson is a better coach multiple times, but you guys think he’s sine hero that deserves a total pass year one.

Guess what, genius? Mullin and  Anderson are a hell of a lot closer as coaches than you and these other clowns try to portray. Mullin was probably slightly under the average coach and Anderson slightly over. Both were fired this year. Neither has ever been known for x’s and o’s. Anderson’s system doesn’t require much skill nor does it require brain power. He doesn’t need a tear to get people on board.

And you don’t rebuild when you have two of the top ten players in the conference...you supplement. No team in the conference has more than two honorees.
