Or GSJ’s creative backdoor lob plays. Those were fun to watch.

Lol when you have Ponds, Heron, LJ, and Clark on the perimeter don’t you think that opens things up for a back door lob to Simon? Remember Clark played the 5 spot and he stayed on the perimeter. His shot had to be respected. Opposing teams centers were pulled out the lane. That also created driving opportunities that only Ponds was able to take advantage of. That wouldn’t work with this group.

You should go back and watch some clips of the Simon alley oops. You can minimize it all you want but they were nice plays.

Often would start with Simon with the ball, swinging to the opposite side and one or two down screens with everyone else rotating. They were creative and effective. This team obviously doesn’t need that exact play but a play at all would be pretty neat.

Those plays were great! So what? What about the other 39 minutes and 58 seconds of the game?

I’m not minimizing it...they were nice plays. However you are not acknowledging how the threat of an outside shot plus the skill set of the collective players enables that play to happen. Simon initiated many of those plays. Walk me through how that same play would work given our starting lineup versus GT. Is Roberts initiating the play? Even if he doesn’t do you think Yurtseven is even paying Roberts any attention? Wherever Roberts goes Yurtseven stays put in the lane.

Many of your scenarios sounds good in theory but it’s not that simple. So many times I’ve read posters saying Heron should get the ball in the post. What are y’all watching?

I quote, ”Just a big body on him like roberts ”. That’s what I thought you said. Although Roberts may be tall he’s a string bean and gets pushed around quite easily. He wasn’t the answer. Although I believe Spears offered the most size, I don’t believe we have anyone that could guard Yurtseven.

If Roberts is a string bean then what is Moore, anyone seen him?

Would be nice to get a 6'10 245 guy

Sure would be. It seems like SJU chronically struggles to get 6'10, 6'11 big bodies in here. They just need to be space eater types with a little bit of skill.

Granted, I'm not opposed to skinny 6'10 guys like Moore if they can play. But for once it would be nice to get some true big uglies. At least one. It gets really old being the smaller team almost always.

Kofi Cockburn might have come here if Mullin’s teams weren’t so soft. He was turned off by it. Too bad.

Moore isn’t a center. Roberts is. Their offensive game is completely different. Moore has range out to the 3 point line.

If Roberts is a string bean than Moore is just the string. Haha that one was just for Marillac. Too funny ahmaright? Seriously though Moore is rail thin and we still need a legit big.

Our need for a center is just as important as our need for a PG.

McGriff was a 2* out of H.S., he'll be the backup next year. It's will be our starting pg, kid was a top 100 player before breaking his arm last year. He's putting up the numbers this year.   we need Gray real bad.

24-7 has him listed at 195 pounds. Rivals has him at 235. I never heard of him. We need a physical beast

Ian Steere should be that guy. It’s embarrassing how out of shape he is.
