Since I started the Q. Calhoun thread... I figured I would follow up with D. Kitchen.

He looked good in the Duke game.  He ran some point and got by his man easily.

Derwin is a good player always was. Its a shame things didn't work out. He missed about half of this season due to eligibility issues. I would have taken him back in a heart beat.

Makes you think about that recruiting class if it all would have worked out. Calhoun, Kitchen, Rob Thomas, Wright. If we would have showed earlier success then maybe the Sylven Landesburgs of the world might have shown more interest.

We could've used him, but let's not go overboard.
The Seminoles scored 14 points in the first half. Kitchen didn't score until after the twelve minute timeout in the second half, when his team was already down 21 points, and didn't begin putting up the majority of his numbers until it became "stall ball" time. Hell, he scored 8 of his 15 with under two minutes to go.

I turned the game on for spots in the first half and at the end basically just to watch him.  He had a very pretty drive and up-and-under jump stop in the lane but missed the chippie.  In the closing minutes of the game he ran point and looked pretty good, although the game was rather out of range.  I don't see how any of my post overboard...it isn't even one line long!

I don't know who who to compare him to, Baldi.  He's seems like a smoothe player that is in control but doesn't have that Norm Roberts killer edge to him on defense.  Plays D a lot like Wright to be honest, but tries to get in the passing lanes more.

Hate to break it to you but Ced would have graduated already if he remained at St. John's. You would also point out how he couldn't shoot, had no left, etc. There is a big difference between the Horizon league and the Big East.

C'mon Dave. They played two good Big East teams--beat Syracuse on the road and played WV tough on the road.  Last year they beat WV and Florida State.  They also beat #17 Butler which is FAR BETTER than any win STJ had the last two years.  They played far better than we did against either team.

We lost by 30 to Syracuse in a laugher on our home court.  There is no way we come within 15 points of Butler on our best day.

Other than DJ--who is a natural lefty--does anybody on our team have a left hand?  Does anyone on our team even have a dribble?  Boothe has the worst left of any "pure pg" I've ever seen in my life.  But at least Boothe has that killer jumper, right?  Oops.  Funny that nobody on our team put together the same shooting % from three that Ced had the last two years averaged.

Paris you always underestimate his lefty prowless. So many times he catches the ball on the left wing and blows by his man baseline to the basket.

You can talk all you want about how Ced can't shoot, but his handle is better than Paris'.  He is the point guard for an NCAA team.  He outplayed Flynn when they were matched up in the Syracuse game.  Flynn made a joke of our entire roster.

Paris doesn't even get burn at PG when we had none.  We played a 6'5 Q, a horribly undertalented Ty, and a 6'6 Kennedy at the point over him.

If Paris has to bounce the ball more than three times, he is in trouble.  His handle is well below average.

He hit a pair of clutch free throws, which forced the TarHoles to have to lauch a pair of contested threes at the buzzer.

FSU took down UNC-Chapel Hill, the seventh top ten RPI team to lose this weekend.
