All-Star game with Omari, Lance, others tomorrow in Greenburgh

There will be an all-star game tomorrow night in Greenburgh (Westchester) featuring some of the areas top players, including Omari Lawrence and Lance Stephenson.

JohnnyJungle's own "TRabinowitz" will be there, so if you're planning to go, let me know.

On Thursday, Frenji Sports held their 2nd Annual Frankie Williams Charity Classic in Greenburgh, NY.

Hometown fav Dante Taylor finished with 32pts
The event featured an All-Star line up that had the standing room only crowd on their feet.

The White Team would bring home the win, scoring a big 128-122 win over the Blue Team. However, it would be Marshal-bound Hassan Whiteside that would steal the show, taking home the MVP award finishing with 37 points for the White team. White Team's Lance Stephenson would serve up 21 points.

For the Blue Team Pittsburgh-bound Dante Taylor, the hometown favorite, would finish with 32 points. Taylor's teammate Cincinnati-bound Sean Kilpatrick contributed an exciting 26 points and Miami-bound Durand Scott would add 21 points.

By the end of the first quarter, Whiteside would've already tallied 13 points for the White Team, coached by former NBA star Kenny Anderson. By the second quarter, Taylor, a Greenburgh native, wowed the crowd with his electric dunks, finishing the half with 13 points. Taylor's team was coached by Dwayne "Tiny" Morton, the head coach at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, NY.

Pitt-bound forward Dante Taylor, a Greenburgh native who is pictured at left, was named MVP of his home tournament after pouring in a team-high 32 points for the Blue team, many on rim-rocking dunks. Cincinnati-bound wing Sean Kilpatrick scored 26 points for the winners, including back-to-back 3’s, and looked highly impressive in taking St. John’s-bound wing Omari Lawrence one-on-one. Miami commit Durand Scott chipped in with 21 points and Kansas State commit Jordan Henriquez added 11 points..

For the losers, Marshall-bound big man Hassan Whiteside led all scorers with 37 points, scoring at will on leaping dunks. He was given the Sportsmanship Award. Providence-bound guard Vincent Council added 15 points and Russ Smith and Brian Voelkel scored 13 apiece.

Lawrence scored 10 points for the White team and said he will play for Jamaica in the upcoming FIBA U19 World Championships in New Zealand.

Did Kilpatrick really make Omari look as bad as Zagoria described?

I don't know on zags blog it said the white team lost. But they won

Did Kilpatrick really make Omari look as bad as Zagoria described?

No, they were very evenly matched.  SK used his quickness of Omari and Omari used his strength on SK.  They went back and forth on each other.  It was fun to watch.
