just to let you know, just cause you are invited does not mean you are allowed to go. Space is limited...so keep that in mind.

Lets be realistic they aren't going to be shunning people at the doors for this event. If they do then that would be truly tragic.

what would be a good time to arrive to guarentee a seat??

If it is like last year there is no seats only standing room. They should have held this in the newly renovated Carnesecca Arena. It would have been very easy on security too as they have to set up for the Nets game the following night.

Space is limited at every SJU basketball event.

Obviously.

Pinstripe, thank you for that. I'm still laughing.
What did they have last year, 12 people, including the staff?

Last year there was about 2,000 students I believe. This year is open to the public so I do expect an increase in numbers however in no way should there be people turned away.

There is less space in Carnesecca, thats why they didnt do it there, according to people i spoke with. There is alot planned so it should be a good time, WSJU will be broadcasting at the event so feel free to stop by the table.

Less space?  It fits 6000 people!  I can assure you there will not be 6 grand on Thursday.

Carnesecca = 6,000 seats

Taffner = 0 seats

Thank you Dave, there is more space for events to take place, people to move around and other activities.

Oh no I disagree with you. I think there is a lot more room at CA than Taffner. Taffner is just awkward to have an event of this nature at.

You could easily fill the vendors in the lobby and around the catwalk in addition to being able to accommodate a large group of people so they can sit and watch the festivities as opposed to standing room only with 20 rows of people deep on level ground.

So what is the reason that this is in Taffner and not Carnasecca?  Idiotic move smh.

Will there be video of this thing?  There was last year right?

I guess i'll have to leave the kids home.  STJ does it again. Aren't some things no brainers.  After working all day it would have been nice to sit. I'm 6'4'' what happens to all the people behind me. Everyone below 5'10 get ready for an intense calf workout if u wanna see.   A pep rally with no seats. Classic.
The phrase perfect storm refers to the a simultaneous occurrence of events which, taken individually, would be far less powerful than the result of their chance combination. Such occurrences are, by their very nature, rare, and so even a slight change in any one event contributing to a ‘perfect storm’ would be sufficient to lessen the overall power of the final event.

Is there buzz on campus about this?
Have they done a good job of promoting the event on campus?
