In my version of revisionist history, it was also the other losses that hurt the team - even Ricky Torres and Patterson. Not that they were good, but they could have given the team good minutes, and the lack of continuity and the inexperience showed. Then again, those schollies became far superior players - DJ Kennedy and Sean Evans - so what do I know.
I think Mase is a better player than people think, but he also has the problem of being able to get his shot off well enough that he may not be sure when not to take the green light. But last year, I thought he showed me something - playing more position defense against Boston College, blocking some shots.
