As much as I would love Mark Jackson to come here and be an assistant, he probably makes comparable money as an announcer and has to invest much less time into his ESPN gig than a college assistant does.  The guy almost got the Knicks head job, no way he comes to Jamaica as an assistant.

There are some posters on these boards who are genuine racists.
If Greenberg is hired they'll have to decide if they hate more than they love SJU bball.
I believe you mean anti-semitic.
Judaism is a religion, not a race.

we cant fire this guy..he knows these juniors best..need Ronald Roberts here..seems like an athletic kid that will do well in this league..quincy roberts is another guy no1 speaks of who showed a lot last season..he will also contribute..we could definitely having a very successful season next year...let the guy finish with one of his best classes.

Too late now, they gotta make a move. Roberts will liook good in a UConn uniform. Maybe they should have had a coach lined up?

so what if we lose ronald roberts?  the kid is good, right? ok, is he good enough to bring a 6-12 team to 12-6? if he isnt then who cares...if you're looking for 6-12 to turn to 12-6 in one year then its done by a coach not any one player...with norms coaching skills we'd need two 5 star recruits to be a factor in the big east next season so dont cite ronald roberts as a program changer lol...id love to have him, he seems like a good player, but if he loves norm so much let him follow him to his next job...it probably wont be in basketball, but im sure he could bag the groceries norm is ringing up next year...and why let roberts finish with his best class?...these kids are juniors and they finished 13th in the league...what in gods name do u think will happen next year with norm? and then if, and i give you the benefit of the doubt by saying if, we do poorly again, the next coach has jack shi t to work with...however, if a good coach comes in next year and wins, he can at least recruit in the meantime and have a solid frosh class coming in to help the transition so we dont totally suck the year after...fact is, with the amount of seniors we got next year, if norm came back and didnt win, he would be leaving this job almost in the same condition as jarvis...no scholarship players and probably even less respect for the program

Ron Roberts signed an LOI. What are the chances he's released from it? I predict zero.

Poor kid, he's going to have to play his college basketball in the middle of nowhere. Oh wait, no he isn't.

Yeah bc we lost barkley bootsy and glover when fraschilla was fired too.  ::eye roll::

Ron still is in line to be "the man" with omari as a soph. We will be hiring a better coach.  He'll be fine.

Ron Roberts seems to be good, but he's not Ron Artest.  It wouldn't kill us if we lost him, b/c I'm sure the new coach will be able to use that 'ship for one of his high recruits or one of his previous players willing to transfer.

Ron Roberts 'ship should have zero bearing on whether or not Norm keeps his job.  Thats just crazy talk.  If he's adament about leaving w/ a new coach...well...bye.   I don't think he will though.

Ron Roberts can't go to another BE school (or, if the old rule is still in place, he'd have to sit at least two years).

Then they finish 6-12, hopefully get an NIT bid, and we wait for the class of 2011 to enroll.  There are no guarantees.  I think they will finish higher than that - unless some coach comes in with a quirky offense (overly reliant on the three-pointer or the dribble-drive) and doesn't adjust it for the players who are there (quick and athletic, but not always the greatest shooters off the dribble), and a number of key guys get injured.

then that would suck?...they could also go 0-18 next year..but most likely a good coach improves this team...and most likely, unless ronald roberts is a baby lebron, a coach improves the team much more than one 3 star prospect...if we get seth greenburg, i doubt we'll have problems pulling ronald roberts type recruits

Exactly. He'd be nuts to leave now.

Hewitt is in the ACC final and will be dancing again.  Too bad we can't sign this underachiever.
