That site cracks me up sometimes. Who is "NBE Blogger" state your name gangster! or at least make one up like Mark Twain.

Jamie Dixon would be awesome for Oregon. I hope it happens for yours and our sake.
It's Ray Mernagh. He a nice, middle-aged Pitt writer/fan.

I remember Dave and I were talking about the coaching situation at St. Johns, and I think this is a mutually good fit. I don't think Lavin is a great coach, but he recruits well and I think in NY, he'll be able to grab enough talent for St. Johns to finally start competing in the Big East again.
Lavin's coaching - better or worse than Ernie Kent's?  i think they're similar.  Fast-paced, indifferent defense at times, but for all the talk about how they suck, they still got wins.

When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

You do realize that Kent got Oregon to *two* Elite Eights? At a football school in a conference with Arizona, UCLA, USC, Stanford, and Cal?

I thought his firing was a travesty.

I remember Dave and I were talking about the coaching situation at St. Johns, and I think this is a mutually good fit. I don't think Lavin is a great coach, but he recruits well and I think in NY, he'll be able to grab enough talent for St. Johns to finally start competing in the Big East again.

I didn't say what I thought about Ernie Kent's firing!  His teams were indifferent to defense, sometimes a little loose, and the fans thought the team sucked.  I thought they were asking for a whole lot; he was a classy guy, and the dude kept finding ridiculous talent and getting it to play.  I have some friends in Eugene and I've followed the Ducks as my west coast team for 12 years or so; the Lukes and Fred Jones were my jam.  Bryce Taylor seemed like a cool fella - a real smart, next-level kind of open-minded guy, and Malik Hairston could ball.  I think Tajuan Porter is simply a bad idea (a la Nate Robinson - just not a heady PG), and asking him to run the point stunted the team after Brooks left.

But I want to hear a comparison of the coaching!  When Lavin was run off, how did his teams compare to the last two Ducks teams?
