Doubtful...plus the rest of the Fordham posters seem to be dismissing the guy who posted it.

the only reason i find it to be somewhat possible is if grasso is hired onto lavins staff...grasso recruited gaston and gaston endorsed him to be the full time coach before pecora was hired...they have a strong relationship

It makes sense. It makes a lot of sense. Why stay there? No sense in it. If he was on the SJU campus today, I believe he's coming. Kid was great at Alumni Hall. Easily the best player on the floor.

That would make one starter for the 11-12 season. Sorry Fordham, but you're Fordham. So you understand.

the funny thing is, if u look down at the posts, one poster said its bs and st johns fans are just being cocky now that we got lavin...im a fordham alum and support the program but fordham got him and he blew up...if that guy isnt worried he might transfer from that program, which is one of the worst in the country, and in a 3 yr rebuilding effort at the least, then he is smoking some strong stuff...and im not just talking about transferring here, just in general

he would be a great addition to a 2011 lineup
1) like what was said before he is a pure scorer
2) he would bring experience to a very young lineup with a season under his belt already
3) recruiting 4-6 kids at one time could be tough, adding him would be another big time player that Lavin wouldn't have to spend time on recruiting
so if if he really was on campus today, then i hope the guys on the team were putting in a hard transfer to st johns pitch

32 points 15 rebounds...shot 12-19 from field...although that might have been the idea...let gaston do whatever he wants, just take care of everyone else

he might have had all of fordham's points, but if i have to sit near his dad for one game it's not worth it. the guy is a clown, i've met 5 year olds more mature.

Would they let him out of his ship? They have been known to hold kids hostage.

I doubt they'd let him out of his scholarship.  They phucked Jio.  I believe Jio wasn't allowed to transfer to ANY A-10 school as well as any NYC school--maybe Jerz as well?

If they do the same to Gaston after his head coach got fired and the interim head coach that signed him leaves, that would be messed up and really hurt Fordham down the road.

I think Gaston would be a TERRIFIC addition.  He'll help balance ou the scholarships.  My only concern beyond the scholarship release would be his turnovers.  The dude AVERAGED 4.5 TO's per game. That is insane.  Yes, he had to do everything when Jio left, but still.

My only other concern would be that he and Roberts seem to be simlar guys that are undersized, face-up fours.

Imagine adding Syl and Gaston as transfers.  We'd be a great team in 2011!

He averaged 4.5 turnovers a game because he double teamed for 40 minutes.
Kid is a player, and probably better than his numbers showed.

Imagine if he had a guard to kick it out to?

He can transfer is he wants. He's already in school.

Either way we don't have a scholarship to offer so I see this as a moot point anyways.

I'm confused ?
Is a scholarship a 4 year contract?

Does a college have the right to not renew (push him out) a kids scholarship,
but also not allow him to leave ? Seems very unfair if so to the athlete?
I assume it has nothing to do with the sitting 1 year on transfer which is completely seperate ?

Do you think he'd get any burn over Quincy Roberts?
Because if he would, Quincy could be headed to Iona.

He could go to a 2 yr school for 1 yr (very inexpensive) or just take a year off from school ?

Wrong Dave.  He would need a release.

The funny thing--that is messed up--is the school can cancel after any season, but the kid needs to be released.  It doesn't seem fair.

Think back to Jio last year.  He was a player on Fordham AND his coach got canned.  They still phucked him with conditions for his release.  Remember Kojo Mensah and Siena?  That was a battle.  They finally let him transfer to Duquesne.

Here is the rule:

If he is not granted a release, the family would have to pay his way for a year and he would still have to sit out. After one year, he could then go on scholarship at the new school. He would still have to five years to play four.
