Mo Hicks

In a Donovanesque trick, Calipari was hanging out right outside of the Hoop Summit last year. The DE guy, who was in Portsmouth and Hampton this weekend, indicated that Cal's Turkish player may have receipts that can indicate that he was well paid overseas.

There are some good W. African kids in the pipeline and they're arriving at a much younger age than their predecessors, in order to acclimate themselves to the country and the American game.

The Australian institute is really putting out players - Vanderbilt has a couple, I think, and Ater Majok was one as well - but obviously they think they can get better competition here.

I do think that in coming years a few more eastern European players will consider coming to the states - good basketball culture over there but there have to be some guys who want to hang out in New York.  That's just my idle speculation, obviously.

Slightly more athletic and better upper body than both of those guys. I believe he now works out with Alan Stein, who is renowned for his S&C work with a lot of the DMV kids.

I doubt Mo's hiring contingent on getting Lamb.  At all. 

It is obvious Lavin wants to have a balance on his staff, and is probably waiting for the associate head coach.  He's got 1 guy with NYC ties (Chiles) and 1 guy with NBA background and west coast/DMV ties (Hines).  I imagine he wants to have the last two as 1 with more national ties and NBA exoerience, and 1 with NY ties.  If we get Dunalp, Hicks is prob the main target.  Perhaps if we don't get Dunlap, then we get someone else as associate head coach, who may have NY ties, and he may want a more national guy as the DOBO.  Just a guess on my part.

Lavin mentioned Hines, Chiles and Dunlap on Friday night, but not Hicks.

It is much easier to take an educated guess at what Lavin wants to do than Norm was....I think Lavin is going about this in a perfect way.  Regain NYC, but also open us up more to national/international players.  Regardless of who we get, I love the process Lavin is using, and it will help us in the long run, whoever ends up coming, IMO.

when i spoke to coach he said the only way he leaves his current position was for a head coaching job or head assitstant . and he wanted to make at least what he is making now or more which is like 200,000+. i really dont think he is gonna take a dobo job unless they pay him big. and i think it is important to get him or kimani or keep cross. they are or was the top aau guys in this area plain and simple. norms biggest mistake other than getting a x and o coach was not hiring guys like this at the start. now tony can and will help get some of those guys. but i think those three can get the top ones. or help convince them to take unofficials and see the place.

Do AAU coaches/ administrators really make 75-100K on top? Wow !

guys dont yall know the old men in the ncaa put in new rules stating that coaches cant speak at colleges anymore? do u know why? because coach a was getting 5,000-10,000 to speak and that was pefectly legal. now times that between 15 schools and do the math. thats part of their salary. mo was getting paid. and he wasnt the only one parent swas part of it also ie mr.orton
