Bad news keeps rolling in. Hopefully he comes back it would really suck to lose him a great player and person. Also if he signed his letter of intent, how can he decommit is it because he failed to qualify?

Yes...I believe the letter of intent is now null and void.

Hopefully he makes it to campus...he is a unique talent.

Also its ridiculous the lack of loyalty some people have towards these guys. I'm not happy about this situation either but every time someone decommits some posters just openly bash them. He has to do whats best for him, this decision could effect his whole life.

Sampson is well advised and this is what he should do. What if Lavin and St. John's went another route and recruited someone else for next year instead of him? He'd be left screwed.

It's a 2 way street. Maybe he ends up at St. John's in December, September, or maybe somewhere else. It happens don't get hung up on it.

I hope JaKarr gets his academics in order and continues to see success on the court. He's a really nice kid and deserves the best.

A little too PC for me there Dave.  The way he did it (McGary twitter) and the back and forth quotes are troublesome.  The question boils down to does STJ still want Jakarr.  Do they only want him for December? Would they also be fine with him coming Fall of 2012? Right now all of these guys are free agents.  No LOI is holding them in place.  There comes a point when some loyalty has to be shown.  Not just to the staff but to your future teammates.  If the questions I broached above were answered and unfavorable then it makes sense for him to decommitt, even though technically hes not even committed right now.

Well its clear Amir is more driven by this setback it shows alot, especially for a kid who could walk away and play pro baseball. Nobody is bashing jakar

Last year was his Sr. year.  He is doing post grad now.

Dave, with all due respect, this is a big deal. This team has no size. If they played in the MAAC, they'd be undersized.

I lose more and more respect for this kid everyday. Its one thing to mess up with your studies but then to leave us high and dry and now to be looking at other BE schools. I hope the staff forgets about him and moves on this kids is showing to be pretty classless.

If Sampson spends the entire year at Brewster again and then goes to PC, they will have a Top 10 Class.
