2010/2011 Starting Lineup
« on: October 25, 2010, 11:51:52 AM »
So who's it gonna be?  I don't mean who would you like, I mean who will be out there for our first few games? Especially with Justin Burrell out, something's going to be different.

I'll go with the mostly traditional:

pg Malik Boothe
sg Paris Horne
sf DJ Kennedy
pf Justin Brownlee
c Sean Evans

w/ Hardy and Polee 1st 2 off the bench.

Until Burrell is healthy, this is the lineup I like to start.  Evans doesn't box out, so I don't see the difference in puttinh him in.

Evans has more upside. Brownlee is an 8th man. Not sure what everyone saw last year that is making people go crazy for him? I would try and start Coker just for his pressence and Burrell when healthy. Evans would be my first big off the bench and Brownlee and Polee would have to fight for the extra minutes leftover.

Boothe, Hardy, Kennedy, Evans and Coker. Polee, Brownlee and Horne off the bench first.

Hardy needs to start. Horne does some things well, but not enough to start.

With only 11 healthy players for 1st 2 months,
and a new coach which wipes slate clean for prior year,

I think he tries multiple different lineups- only Boothe & DJ should be a given.
I think everyone averages 15+ minutes 1st 2 months.

I like Horne ahead of Hardy- offensively last year they were
statistically even, but Horne rebounds better & plays better "D"

Quincy could be an "X" factor. We dont know.
Coker still hasn't showed me he deserves to be in rotation unless Evans/ Burrell/ Brownlee in foul trouble

I didn't see Horne rebounding on either side of the ball last year. Everyone talks about his defense, but I think it was really lacking last year.

We'll see who comes into this season more prepared. Both Hardy and Horne can contribute without starting, but because we struggled so much offensively, I'd rather see Hardy given the chance to start.

I keep the starters the same. Boothe, Paris, DJ, Evans, and Justin. Brownlee and Hardy are my 1st subs. I get them in early. If we play a Big team I would start Coker over Evans. Hopefully stith can play 5/6 minutes a half. It would be great if Polee earned major minutes. I would keep Quincy and rob Thomas outside the rotation unless their is an injury or they beat out someone. We played to many guys at times last year.
Starters are the same but I play the hot hand down the stretch. On some nights it might be Paris others it might be Hardy.

Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

it has to be DJ. there's no way horne or hardy can handle the point. when boothe got healthy last year he actually started playing pretty well. nothing earth shattering but my guess is...

boothe
horne
dj
evans
coker

with stith, hardy, roberts, brownlee and polee off the bench the 2nd unit doesnt have too big a dropoff.

Boothe
Hardy
DJ
Evans
Coker

Polee and Horne will see plenty of minutes and could just as easily start.
