As our number one potential recruit, there has not been any recent posts on Michael's status with us.  Does any one have a clue on what is happening in Michael's camp?

Sounds like if he is cleared to play , he is ours.  Good position to be in, I guess.

I'd like to lock up Nolan also, just in case. Especially if there are 2 ships still available for use.

But we only have 1 available scholarship.  Chandler is the beast I've been hoping for.  I am sure this has been posted several times earlier, but just had another look at: Central Florida Commit Michael Chandler Highlight Mixtape

He has good hands and has offensive moves.

Since we have one scholarship, sign get Nolan committed for 2013-2014.

Room for 2?  For 2012-2013?  Looking at the scholarship distribution table I just see room for one scholarship.  Another one opens up in 2013-14 when God's Gift departs.  Can you explain?

Some "insiders" are saying there is room for 2 more.  Not sure how.  Until I know can't update the scholarship table.  Lots of speculation...maybe one of The commits won't sign and/or will prep or someone will walk on. Your guess is as good as mine.

How about we let Coach Lavin worry abouy the number of openings we have.
After all, he is the only one who knows for certain.

My wife says the same thing when she sees me reading up on our recruiting and generally obsessing: HONEY, WHY DON'T YOU LEAVE IT TO THE BASKETBALL COACHES!  If I could get myself to leave it to Lavin instead of checking this site, well, I'd probably have a more productive life!

First off, apologies because no new information on Chandler.  I just read on another thread that we're likely to hang around on pins and needles to see if he qualifies by June.

Some musings on Chandler.  My son showed me some videos of Chandler early in his high school career.  Much slimmer and he runs the court so well.  He seems to have put on some weight, not all muscle, as he became an high school upperclassman.  He is still dominant with that weight but we liked how fast he was up and down the court as a lighter player.

FWIW, told to expect word this week. Reliable feedback in an unreliable NCAA world. Keeping fingers crossed.

Why not hold off thinking about how many scholarships we have open until we get another commitment or two?  We go around and around with that question. The only person who really knows that answer is Coach Lavin, the Keeper of the Scholarships.

But Lavin is regularly checking this site for guidance.  Johnnyjungle is the keymaster!

He would make this into a really excellent class.

Really believe he could be the difference between us being a good team next year and a very good team.

I think we'll be quite good down the stretch regardless.  Chandler just gives us that difference maker in the middle that can cause matchup problems by himself.  He's big with soft hands and a good offensive finisher.  With some hard work and coaching-up, he can cause defenses some troubles, especially with the others we have surrounding him.  Don't want to get too excited about this as there is a lot of uncertainty right now.  Hopefully all goes right.  If so, our frontline gets a big boost.

We're going to be quite good no matter what, agree 100%.  Yet we were brutalized on the boards this year.  And I hate the idea of being exploited by a team with a legit Center who could push us around down low.  This guy is going to own the paint for us at MSG.
