And in there lies one of our major problems in getting the best or second best player in NYC on a year-in, year-out basis. One of the reasons why I'm shocked when people get upset if we lose a top guy from our backyard. Looks like we are 2-4 thus far in the Lavin regime, which isn't that bad by any stretch. And getting Carrington would help make up for missing out on CM and Whitehead in 2014.
The difference now is that while Norm would lose out on pretty much all of the top NYC players, not bring in a similarly high-ranked player from outside NY, and be stuck fighting for lower tier players from the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region, Lavin has gone out thus far and gotten top guys from all over. Hope that continues, and that we continue to target selected top players from NYC/Jersey and land a few.
