Normally, I don't go that route, Baldi.  I also became wary of his recruitment once his brother got involved.

Why Baylor all of a sudden. They are getting players in both football and basketball.

Thats a bummer.  Obekpa and Samson are must gets now.  We don't seem to have many other 4/5 options after that, but who knows what will happen in the spring.

Yup hate to sound like I'm coming from the negative camp, but if we don't get BOTH Obekpa and Sampson we are not going to be that much better next year. Siz is our biggest downfall. Must be addressed.

I don't know about not much better than this year. If we got obekpa or sampson and add a guy like sanchez we would be better than this year. Gift will be a year out of Juco which is usually when they make real improvement. Mo would move to his natural spot. Plus all the frosh would have a ton of experience. And we wouldn't be playing a 6 man rotation.I think we can get into the tourney without lAnding both jakarr and obekpa. We do need one of them though.

I don't think he'd play the 5 here either.  Gift would be planted at the 5, Gathers at the 4 and Mo at the 3.  Fwiw, Mo Harkless has not been ill-effected in any way by playing the 4 this season.  He's once of the best, if not the best freshman in the country.  It hasn't hurt his scoring ability, his creativity or any facet of his game.  If anything, it has been better for him to learn to post some guys, something he'll need desperately at the next level. 

I know it was mentioned a while back, but did Gathers football potential come into play here? Obviously basketball is his sport, but maybe he is keeping all future options on the table.

In the world of recruiting I know u have to optimize every attempt to sign quality D1 talent!
 However, (in my opinion) with Lavin is sizing up younger/fellow teammates on the same team with Ricardo I think it makes his recruitment seem less sincere  to the EGO
the reason being is we are dealing with kids who although may have delusions of grandeur (Kentucky offer When u are not a 5 star)  have been heralded by coaches classmates recruiters web posters friends family etc.
None the less, for us he would have been a major catch or would he? time will tell!
If you struggle to see the pattern think back to Vinny Chase!  and the change in the tide when D. Wood was also offered
These guys wanna be elite and dont wanna bring hs or aau guys for the ride!
I'm no coach and i may be wrong just my opinion
But!

PS I'm Sure he and his Bro are happy Baylor got whupped last night as they are not primetime ready!
