Well, that's one opening.

I would guess the staff knew about this for a while. That's one opening we needed.

I didn't see this one coming.  Maybe, he saw the writing on the wall with the newcomers and felt he would get limited minutes.  Not to mention, who we're also recruiting in the 2012 class (mainly, Gathers).  Who knows!?!

I hate to see Polee go, but I wish him the best of luck throughout his hoops career.

On the basketball end for us it's not a huge deal.  Hopefully his family situation works out for him and he keeps evolving as a player.

That doesn"t surprise me . Other than his athletic ability he didn"t  overly impress me. Due to his thin frame he will make a better SF then PF and we are loaded at that position. I feel Sampson has the capability of being an excellent PF but he needs to put on weight. This will also leave room for either Gathers or Anderson.

I don't know.  Don't you think his experience (although only one year) would have been very beneficial to the team and freshmen next season?

Unfortunate, as we could have used all the experience we could possibly get next year.

I still think, with or without Polee, with or without Jones, that this upcoming year will be a long one (there's just NO experience there).  Look out in 2012-2013, however.

I've changed that for you, ras.   ;)

I could be wrong, but I think those legs are wobbling.

Wow...that explains the additional recruits we were going after.  Best of luck to Dwayne!

If the incoming players are more talented than Polee, how beneficial would his one year of experience really be?  Good luck to him

Staff must have known this for a long time with all the wings we recruited.  Polee was going to have a hard time finding minutes ahead of Harkless, pointer, Sampson and possibly even Garrett.  Yes we lost one kid with a year of experience but not a huge loss over all.  Good luck to him.  No more scholarship problems for Lavin.  Let's grab Harrow if we can.

Geez...didn't see this coming.  He had a good situation here on and off the court.  He must have heard footsteps...maybe he thinks we add Anderson or Gathers before the summer ends?

According to a report, his father was the one who made him transfer.  Didn't see his son getting enough minutes next season and beyond.

Interestingly enough, Dwayne's first and last games may have been his best showing at St. John's.  I sure enjoyed him at the SMC game.

I do think that Dwayne's value to St. John's should be remembered more for his off the court actions than on the court performances.  He was Coach Lavin's first recruit.  And a top recruit at that from CA.

I have to believe that his being on board meant something to the 2011 Recruitment Class.  Look at where Coach's 2011 recruits came from, all over the USA.

I will be sorry to see him go, but as others have already stated, we seem to be well stocked in the 3-4 positions.

"I really enjoyed my experience at St. John's and I'm going to miss the staff and New York," Polee said in a statement. "Right now I feel it is best to be close to my family and help us get through a health issue."

The health issue appears to involve his mother although the severity is not known.
