If Sean Evans plays for the Warriors combined with this- Bobre's head might explode of joy.  ;D

Talk about things coming full circle Mark now coaches the team where Chris Mullin used to GM and where former Knick fan favorite David Lee now plays.  Two dynamic but small guards in Curry and Ellis. Here's hoping he gets time to put the pieces together. One bit of luck for him is that the Western Confrence's perrenial powers (Lakers and Spurs) appear to be declining but OKC and Memphis appear to be emerging.

If the Warriors can sign Howard, Paul and trade for an all power forward I think they can contend.

They have a few solid pieces like Ellis, Lee, and Curry but you are right this is going to be a tough job at least right away. The west is still very tough and its not easy to make a jump at the bottom like it is in the east. Great for Mark though, he is doing St. John's very proud.

They should dump Ellis.  Bulls want a 2 guard.  Others I'm sure.  See what they can grab back.

I love how everyone mentions that he doesn't have coaching experience.  He has 17 years of experience in the NBA as a COACH ON THE FLOOR.  It remains to be seen how he handles the clubhouse and personalites (I think he'll do fine there), but he has forgotten more basketball then most of these coaches have ever known.

While most on this board would have thought Mark Had a dream Job; all commentary, no pressure, good money, Mark had a dream job in mind.  I am glad he has gotten to pursue his dream

Of course I know who they are, but what team they are on is another story.  NBA sucks

:) Congratulations Mark!!!  You honor STJ and lets not forget Bishop Loughlin.  Have a great career and never forget your roots.  You were a great player, a natural leader and soon to be a great coach.

I'm still a little amazed at how a guy has no coaching experience gets a head coaching job at the highest level. It's great for Mark Jackson though and I thought he was just getting to be really good at his tv gig.

I don't know. When he talks he sounds like he knows what he is saying but actually implementing it is a whole other game. Doc did a very very good job so mark does deserve a chance. I do agree %100 that norm should have hired him if that was a option
