I'm guessing a lot.

No.

Choz is right.  Might be a coach or two that can make it depending on games and proximity to Springfield but most likely not much.

No.  I've been to the HoopHall showcase about 3 times.  A good number of head coaches show up, especially for the Sunday and Monday games.

Also a bunch of prospects playing at Baruch college this weekend if anyone wants to check it out.

Also slated to play are uncommitted 2013s Jermaine Lawrence of Cardozo, Rysheed Jordan of Robert Vaux, Davon Reed of Princeton Day, Terrence Samuel of South Shore and 2014 guard Isaiah Whitehead of Lincoln.

Will probably head there one of the two days.  Last year Lav, Chiles and Rico were all there.

Mo importent..... it shows he okay. He aint in a hospital bed like some less-than-righteous momufukus been puttin out on the trail.

Some coaches have their own practices and some of them are just god awful.

I honestly couldn't see lav using the whole "negitave" recruiting thing with a recruit.

Of course not - as our coaches are holier than your coaches.

BREAKING: 6-9 junior forward Jermaine Lawrence has transferred out of Cardozo to Pope John XXIII in Sparta, N.J., The Post has learned.

Does his new school have a good basketball program? Definitely an interesting transfer.

Yes, I think I read they were 7-5.

They have some good players, but he's going to dominate.  Very structured ball and he's going to receive top-notch coaching.

Lavs seems like a good guy and all, but there is NO way he doesn't negatively recruit... and I don't think that's a bad thing, it's natural.  It's like campaigning, you can't just tell people why you're the right person for the job, you need to point out why the other guys' ideas are foolish.    You don't think he's telling Obekpa that Calhoun may be gone by the time he's a sophomore ? lol    Surely is.   And there's nothing wrong with that IMO.

Now I doubt he uses the medical stuff against another coach, that seems like the kind've extra dirty move he would avoid.

Exactly right. Its a sleazy profession. There was a great article awhile back comparing coaches to pimps, drug dealers, lawyers, politicians etc. Of course their are exceptions

On the other hand I have heard many a recruit say what he liked about a school that he ultimately chose is that they did not negatively recruit. Not negatively recruiting can be a recruiting strategy in itself and if you are dealing with a kid with good character it can help you. Many times negatively recruiting can turn a kid off to a school. Many times I have heard of a recruit saying the coach spent more time saying negative things about other schools than what is good about his school.

Then yea I would agree with you, I think coach is above that.   I hope so anyway.

I dont know what all of Lavs recruiting tactics are but I know when he was recruiting Kyle Anderson it was mentioned that he actually stated many positives for the other schools as well as us. Dont think he is the type of guy to trash another program

I remember that being written in the papers also with direct quotes from the family verifying that.

Yeah it would be but would never happen. Branch coming and I think the impending recruiting hall is going to put a lot of stuff to rest
