Syracuse's star wing, Kris Joseph, is a 6'7 210 senior leading the #1 team in the country in scoring. Joseph is a projected first rounder and is hitting three's at an impressive clip of 37.8% (4.1 attempts per game) while shooting an equally impressive 80.5% from the free throw line (3.9 attempts).
As a frosh, Joseph shot 26.9% (about 1 attempt per game) from three and a disturbing 40.4% (1.5 attempts) from the free throw line. Joseph's 3 PT % actually fell to 22% as a soph, when he earned a starting spot. That number jumped to 36.6% as a junior.
Travon Woodall of Pitt shot 8.3% from three as a frosh, 26.9% as a soph, 29.3% as a junior and was shooting 42.1% before he got hurt this season. Improving his FT shooting % from 50% as a frosh to 72.8% as a junior and 85% as senior.
What's the point? I think we have a some shooters on our current roster. It's tough to see that because we don't have a freaking point guard penetrating and kicking to open, set shooters on a consistent basis. Also, the guys taking those shots are taking them off of tired legs. The %'s will climb, fellas.
