“@areacodes: Source: CSU to hire former UNM assistant Craig Neal as men's basketball coach http://t.co/prpSHo1g

Ernie want too much money?

Well apparently someone got bad info or someone did a 180 because Gary Parrish of CBS Sports is reporting that Ernie Kent, not Craig Neal, has agreed in principal to become the next head coach of CSU.

I don't get the Spike Lee reference, maybe I missed something (I know he is a Knicks fan).

Spike Lee is a NY sports fan. LIU is located a stone's throw from the new Barclay's Arena. I'm sure he would enjoy a major college program playing in his backyard.

Fatso to SMU?  Apparently the Pony Express is now targetting Rick Majerus:

It's been shown before but as long as Lav is coach and Majerus is mentioned it should be automatically shown

It's a joke.  He's overweight.  So is Governor Christie and I like him and I would still call him fatso as a joke.

Pretty funny.  So we have now gone from Noodles to Kent to Eustachy...

I haven't heard "Colorado State Basketball" mentioned this much in the last 10 years combined.

I would have thought that Majerus would prefer moving north, not farther south.

Majerus turned them down.  Before you know it Norm Roberts may get an interview with SMU before they get someone to say yes:

Jamie Dixon to take the LSU job?     Makes no sense.  Can't believe this is at all true.    But then again, Dixon didn't sign on to be a bottom-tier ACC coach.   And LSU would have to seriously upgrade their basketball facilities, but they have the money to do it.

"The Times-Picayune in New Orleans reported that LSU athletic director Joe Alleva spoke with Dixon in Atlanta on Wednesday."

The Picayune then later retracted that Dixon report.  It is not true.

Did they?   Ok that makes a lot more sense.   I could see Dixon moving, but not to LSU.

The sources said Alleva has also spoken with former New Mexico State Coach Reggie Theus, Harvard Coach Tommy Amaker ands possibly others as he seeks a replacement for  Trent Johnson, who quit Sunday after four seasons at LSU.

A previous report on Nola.com that Alleva met with University of Pittsburgh Coach Jamie Dixon was inaccurate.

Theus would be an intersting hire.
