They're probably referring to Michael Chandler. It's not a mystery that St. John's has had some interest in him but he isn't a certainty at this point.

Correct. Certainly not a lock at this point (although I've heard as of tonight that two are), but a worthwhile venture at this point.  Obekpa I think has sailed, but Chandler, while having had some immaturity issues is certainly An excellent prospect if his head is screwed on right.

After what we went through last Sept, is it prudent to not accept signed NLI's
 from kids who didn't qualify yet ?  Nothing wrong with one question mark,
but I'm still reading not yet qualified about Wood, Hall, Sanchez, Chandler etc.

If they're not qualified for signing week, don't sign in April, but qualify (whether
SAT's or grades) by end of semester (June?), they can still enroll & play in Sept, right ?

Then technicially, wouldn't you NEVER accept an LOI?  None of these kids are qualified till they graduate - and that's not happening for ANY of them till June

True- but we hear all the time of kids who are qualified already.
I guess that means they have qualifying SAT scores  & sufficient core course credits & GPA already ?
Do College coaches get recruits SAT scores from their HS ?

Sanchez?  I haven't heard a thing about him being in trouble. 

Read the whole thread, and I'm kind of confused as to exactly who's in our sights at this point. I've learned from experience that the posters on this site are WAY more knowledgable and accurate than scout, espn, rivals , etc. From the gist of things it seems like right now we're locks to get Morris and Sanchez?? Out of the running for Obekpa? And looking for another big, maybe Chandler or another mystery man?? Can someone please give me some clarity on this lol.

Think we still have a shot with Sanchez MJ?    I thought Providence had all but locked him up...

So if I have read all the recruiting threads correctly, the "finalists" potential recruits the Coach is working on (or not) are:
*  Chandler- C
*  Obeka- PF/C
*  Sanchez- PF
*  Morris- SG
*  Hall- SG
*  Bourgault- SF/SG

I know there are others mentioned in the recruiting section, such as the recent addition of Hooper, but these seem to be at the top of the list.

I think theres gotta be another big we are keeping tabs on
