I've seen him multiple times and he can flat out play. Absolutely deadly from 3 & can definitely hang with the big boys. Thrilled to have him on board

Is he athletic enough to play more than a token amount of minutes in the Big East?    What I'm asking is he that big of a liability defensively that he won't see more than 10 mins a game?

Or, during games when we're being zoned, could he be on the floor longer without really hurting us?

Good basketball IQ, he'll find a way to make it work.

Welcome aboard Max!!

Shooters like Max and Marco (from what I've read about their games) are valuable when you surround them with a group of athletes who can D up (which we have).  Create floor spacing, reduce double teams and if they aren't great individual defenders, the combination of the zone and athletes around them makes up for that.

I assume this is an old photo, or else JaKarr has to hit the weights! Ha! Seriously, never underestimate team spirit and unity. The kids last year really got along and pulled for each other. These two guys will further that along.

I think its old.  Saw Jakarr in January and he seemed bulkier.

You would think Max would qualify for an academic scholarship, if he could get into Harvard.  I seem to recall a past discussion some where on this topic, but my memory fails me.  Could that free up a BB scholarship?  That appears to be too simple to be allowed.  It also puts a a burden on the student-athlete to hit a certain grade level.

Initially people thought that.  But taking an official visit usually disallows that.  Also if he was picking up an academic schollie I would think Zags would have picked up on it as it would have resulting effect on all those other guys coming in for visits jockeying for just 2 scholarships.

Moose, thanks!  I knew there was some reason for that scenario not to work.

Key word is usually.  Somehow Pitino gets former scholarship guys to walk on and we saw Calhoun do it with Drummond last year too.

He played 4 minutes last year and he has to sit out the season. Doesn't seem fair.

He probably should have left after first semester like Branch.

*One game was exhibition too.

I suppose there is no way to petition the NCAA to let this kid play in mid December?

If he did what Branch did he would loose a year. This way he gets 3 more years. I think you have to be at your new school for a year brfore you can play.

Only difference is half a year.  Branch has 2.5 left and Hooper has 3.
