It would have been nice but then again may have caused issues with our current players.

Great pickup for SMU.  The transfer game is so huge for schools not named UNC, Duke, or UK.  I'm glad to Lavin involved the last year and a half with Turner, Branch, and Momo.

I am glad too, because Lavin sees that kids with at least a years experience can be instant contributors.  Yes in most cases kids have to sit a year but you saw in the branch case he made our guards better by just practicing with them day in and day out.  These transfers and juco kids will never not be an option with staff but as the seasons go on, Lavin and company will be bringing in majority of high school kids because he seems to be building the program with a mixture of 4, 3, 2, and one year players.

Decided to bail on SMU to pursue a pro career instead.  Talented kid.. But we dodged a bullet with him.  I also read that Larry Brown pulled a ship from a player to give it to Turner.  This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy :)

Not for nothing, but it was never a question of Branch or Turner.  Unless you count a year and a half ago when we we're recruiting him in HS.

Turner seems like a terrible fit.  No doubt.      But we were thinking of bringing him in in addition to Branch.   So I don't get why everyone is saying we're better off with Jamal.   We were never choosing between the two.

Wonder what's changed from a couple of months ago - since he'd played his frosh season (albeit abbreviated) - if he was going pro, why not put your name in the draft, and go thru the combine process, and the draft?

Not everyone deserves a chance to be scouted. This kid had his chance. He blew it. He'll
Wake up tomorrow, and he'll be 35 delivering pizzas.

Less than positive prognosis;

“@JoshGershon: Didn't realize Josiah Turner was released by the Canadian team he played for. Hopefully he can turn his career around. http://t.co/Pdiu2aCl
