Pretty sure no colleges have it at midnight anymore.

The ruels changed to allow it to start earlier. Some of us have bedtimes.

I think Midnight Madness should be for the students. This is college. An adult at something like that is kinda weird IMO.

Because a Midnight Madness event barely fills up half the building.  Students must really love it.

Without the non students the place would look event worse.

I really enjoyed it last year and plan to go as many times as I can.  There were plenty of adults there.  Check out UK's. You can't even get tickets for it--- and the building is full of old guys in blue sweatshirts.  Our fanbase needs to stop being so apathetic about these things.  It is intended, among other things, as an event to attract recruits.  If potential recruits come, and the building is empty, it signals that the games will be empty also.

You guys are right. Without the non student fan base it would be empty. Still, I stand by what I said. An event like this is for the students. I've stated many times before that I feel SJ students have no character. If they can't fill a tiny arena for a free basketball event, I will unfortunately continue to be right.

I hope I'm not.

It has to do with years of being irrelevant and before that having a commuter school. I have no doubt in my mind that with a campus community and a top of Big East team as well as the new marketing being employed by the school that we will have more of a student influence over the next 3-5 years. It takes time.

Not true.

A building full of old guys in blue sweatshirts - I'd want to play at THAT school.  Add in a delusional, paranoid fan base,  and it would seem like not such a great place to play.  he he he

This is a free event. IMO there is no excuse, except for maybe actual schoolwork, for a student to not attend this. The thing is, they should want to attend this, and they should want to attend it right at this time. Lavin has a full team of talented players that are more talented and deeper than any group we've had since 2000. If this doesn't get students to go, nothing will.

Shucks, I was all set to go until Poison said it is not for adults and I would be weird if I went. Oh well, another night homebound. :(

Last year, I sat near a group of young female students.  One Asian girl was incredibly hot.  Unfortunately, may daughter was with me and she is older than they are.  Oh well!
