NYDN on DLo and eligibility news (not much)

I was under the impression that the question was academic year  for MB and OS. the article says they may not be eligible and play at all?

Bear in mind this writer knows less than most of us.

What do any of us know about this? We were told they were eligible, and now they aren't. Even many of our SJ "sources" either don't know, or are not talking. Bottom line, this was the one thing that couldn't happen again. The staff has got to tow the line.

Then go ask the STJ Twitter Feed.  Tweet or call the NCAA.  They missed an exhibition game.  Greater tragedies man. 

I don't know why they held people out but why bother playing with fire.   They are still practicing its not like they are sitting in their dorm room on their ass. 

You see the NCAA rule changed on redshirts when they can't play an exhibition game this year.  That wasn't the case previously.  The NCAA rulebook is massive.  That's why schools have compliance staffs.

Do you really think Lavin would be contemplating redshirting 2 guys if he thought there was any chance 2 others would be ineligible to play at all?

I appreciate the information, Moose. I have already asked my contacts at SJ. They don't know, and that is what scares me. It is maddening that if we have a compliance staff, it is clearly an incompetent one. They should be fired, and then black balled. There is no excuse for this to happen once let alone again.

Do you really think St.John's would send 3 top recruits to a prep school if they thought there was any chance their transcripts wouldn't be accepted by the NCAA? If you know something say it. This isn't a slam dunk, or they'd be playing.

They cannot go into specifics about their status due to privacy laws. They can't play yet, it's not up to St Johns, the NCAA tells St. Johns when they can play.
